Founded in 2014 in Tanzania, Hekima Voice is dedicated to breaking cycles of exploitation rooted in abandonment, trafficking, violence, and poverty. We serve at-risk adolescent girls, young women, and children, as well as those vulnerable to similar risks in the future. Though modest in size, our impact is significant. We protect adolescent girls, young womenand children's rights, prevent traffick

ing, child labor, and street involvement, and empower youth to build resilience and reclaim their dignity. Our mission is to break the cycle of trafficking, exploitation, and violence by advancing rights, amplifying voices, and fostering the leadership of adolescent girls, young women, and children through advocacy, protection, and empowerment. Our work centers on advocacy and direct interventions addressing child marriage, labor exploitation, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and child trafficking. We collaborate with local communities, government institutions, international organizations, and private sector partners, leveraging shared expertise and resources to combat injustice and build a safer, more equitable future for adolescent girls, young women, and children in Tanzania.

Our Story

Hekima was earlier recognized as the Motivation community targeted to assist vulnerable adolescents and children. In 2014, Hekima registered under NGO Act 2002 with the intention to engage and inspire both, children and adolescents by promoting safeguarding childcare rights, adolescent, gender dynamic, sexual and reproductive health, includes to basic hygiene and nutrition.“Hekima” is Swahili word means wisdom.
