Gov. Henry Oaminal Elected RDCOM–MAC Chair, a Historic First for Region X

DAVAO CITY — A historic milestone for Mindanao development leadership was marked as Governor Henry S. Oaminal of Misamis Occidental, also Chairperson of the Regional Development Council of Northern Mindanao (RDC X), was unanimously elected Chairperson of the Regional Development Committee–Mindanao Area Committee (RDCOM–MAC) during its 41st Conference and Reorganization held at Park Inn by Radisson, Davao City, January 8, 2026.

The election marks the first time that the RDCOM–MAC Chairperson comes from Region X, with Cotabato Governor and RDC XII Chairperson Emmylou J. Taliño-Mendoza elected as Co-Chairperson.

The RDCOM–MAC, created under Executive Order No. 257 (s. 2003) and strengthened by Republic Act No. 12145, serves as the coordinating body for interregional planning, policy alignment, and priority development programs across Mindanao. It harmonizes regional initiatives and elevates shared concerns to the national level.

With Governor Oaminal’s leadership, the RDCOM–MAC enters a new chapter defined by stronger collaboration, unified direction, and accelerated development across Mindanao—marking a proud and historic moment for Region X and all Mindanaoans, guided by a vision that has steadily grown from Asenso Misamis Occidental, to Mas Asenso Northern Mindanao, and now, One Asenso Mindanao.

Last July 28, 2025, we witnessed smiles and excitement as we distributed school supplies to our junior highschool from Grade 7-10 of Domingo A. Barloa Integrated School — one of the meaningful highlights of Linggo ng Kabataan 2025.

This simple gesture is more than just handing out paper, pens, and notebooks. It is about empowering our youth, giving them the tools they need to dream bigger, and reminding them that their future is worth investing in.

We are truly grateful to everyone who supported and made this initiative possible. Together, we continue to stand by our commitment to uplift the youth, for they are not only the hope of tomorrow but also the strength of today.
