Dear all, please let me announce our 4th panelist at Interns with a Mission 2017: Dr Daniel Samaan, Senior Economist and Researcher at the International Labor Organisation (ILO).

Daniel Samaan is a Senior Economist and Researcher at the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva. His research focuses on globalisation and its impact on labour markets as well as on labour markets effects of climate change. Dr. Samaan is also part of a research group at the ILO that focuses on the Future of Work and analyses the impacts of digitalisation and artificial intelligence on labour markets. Recent work includes research papers on labour provision in trade agreements on working conditions and gender. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance and Business Administration from the University of Passau, Germany and also holds a PhD from the New School for Social Research in New York.

Hi all, the countdown is started and it is time to announce our 3rd speaker at Interns with a mission. It is with enormous pleasure that we will have at our panel Ms. Giulia Zanzi, Senior Business Leader, Procter & Gamble, and Geneva Hub Curator for the World Economic Forum Global Shapers.

Ms. Zanzi is currently serving as Curator of the Global Shapers Geneva Hub, designing disruptive innovations in the fertility category to empower women. The Global Shapers Community is a network of Hubs developed and led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities.

Former member of the European Youth Parliament, she graduated with honours at Fudan University in Shanghai and at Bocconi University in Milan. She is also Senior Business Leader in SPD, a Procter & Gamble and Alere JV, where she guided business expansions in China, Russia, Brazil and Mexico.
During her outstanding career in FMGC, Healthcare, Consulting, No-Profit companies and across all continents, Ms. Zanzi has achieved expertise in multiple fields such as innovation, fertility and women biology, gender equality, emerging markets and commercial marketing design.

Dear all, we feel very enthusiastic in announcing the presence on the panel of Mr. Charlie Graham-Brown, Managing Director of Seedstars.
The IWM`s goal is also to encourage dialogue between private and public sector, and to have a comprehensive debate engaging all the stakeholders dealing with digitization and young workers. Therefore, the participation of such an international player as Seedstars, that connects, invest and accelerate startups from over 70 countries, is extremely important.

Mr. Charlie Graham-Brown started out as a mechanical engineer working on projects such as A380 at Airbus. Following an MBA at the Collège des Ingénieurs in Paris, he moved to Geneva and into impact investment management with BlueOrchard Finance. The emerging and developing market investment focus got Charlie traveling and investing in 20+ countries across Africa, Asia and MENA. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to launch an e-commerce startup before connecting with Seedstars and joining the founding team. Responsible for the startup screening, acceleration and investment, he has accumulated deep knowledge of trends in technology in emerging markets.

It is with great pleasure that I am announcing one of the excellent speakers who will be pitching at this years` Interns with a mission: Susan Schorr, Head ITU Special Initiatives Division.

Ms. Schorr leads the digital inclusion work of the International Telecommunication Union in the Telecommunication Development Sector (BDT), promoting ICT use among youth and children, women and girls and Indigenous Peoples as well as ICT accessibility for persons with disabilities.
She directed development of the ITU reports, “Coding bootcamps: a Strategy for Youth Employment, “Digital opportunities: Innovative ICT Solutions for Youth Employment” as well as the ITU-G3ict “Model ICT Accessibility Policy” report.
Her portfolio includes ITU’s International Girls in ICT Day campaign to make young women and school girls aware of information and communication technology (ICT) career opportunities, with an outreach of over 244,000 girls in over 160 countries.
Prior to joining ITU in 2000, Ms. Schorr practiced antitrust law as an associate in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Howrey & Simon, LLP. She was graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center cm laude.

We are pleased to announce this year's Interns with a Mission event that will take place on 2 May 2017 at 15:00, at the Palais des Nation in Room XVII.

This year's event will examine the impact of digitalisation and automation on Youth Employment. Should youth be afraid of automation and consider themselves doomed for a future of unemployment? Or could it bring solid economic potential for generations to come?

Is digitalisation a job creator, or a job disruptor to youth employment?

The event will be a platform for interactive discussion among those who believe that new technologies positively impact young job seekers versus those who are concerned about the future of employment in certain sectors.

The event will then be followed by a networking reception!
