🇨🇭 Swiss Quantum Shows Its Strengths to the World

2025 has been declared the International Year of Quantum, and Switzerland is seizing the moment. This October, Swissnex and partners across the Swiss quantum ecosystem hosted Swiss Quantum Week in Geneva, showcasing the country’s leadership in quantum education, research, innovation, and science diplomacy.

A highlight of the week was the Swissnex Quantum Summit on October 13, held at EPFL’s Campus Biotech. More than 100 participants from 16 countries came together to explore how to accelerate quantum technologies from lab to economy and ensure they develop responsibly for society. As Philippe Roesle, CEO of Swissnex in Boston and New York, emphasized, the goal was to unite Switzerland’s world-class ecosystem with global innovation hubs to strengthen the global quantum economy.

Throughout the summit, speakers and participants highlighted the importance of cross-border and cross-sector collaboration. From the Swiss Quantum Commission to leading researchers and start-ups, the event highlighted Switzerland’s blend of scientific excellence and a strong culture of cooperation. Swissnex also launched an updated edition of Switzerland: A Hub for Quantum, mapping 40 key players across the country.

The Global Innovation Summit (GIS) 2026, hosted by Innosuisse, is an international platform designed to foster cross-border collaboration and accelerate innovation. 🇨🇭🤝🇯🇵 Switzerland and Japan, two global innovation leaders, took important steps to deepen collaboration in life sciences, space research, AI, and quantum technologies. A major milestone of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in quantum science and technology, strengthening an already dynamic partnership.

The Swiss delegation, representing leading institutions such as ETH Zurich, UZH, Innosuisse, SNSF, CSCS, and CSEM, met with key Japanese ministries, funding agencies (AMED, JST, JSPS, NEDO), and industry partners including Mitsubishi Research Institute, Fujitsu, and Rapidus.

Highlights included: 🚀 Discussions on joint space missions at JAXA 🧬 Exchanges on future medical innovation at Osaka’s Future Medicine Expo 🤖 Dialogues on AI’s societal impact at the Zurich–Japan Innovation Dialogue 💡 Engagements with Swissnex and the vibrant Swiss Alumni community in Japan

💫The Digital Health Day 2025 in Zürich was packed with inspiring talks from the brightest minds in healthcare and their key take home messages.

🚀 We kicked off the day discovering smart fabrics that ameliorate our sleep 💤 with the ultimate goal of promoting longevity. We continued learning that losing focus 🎯 and poor marketing strategies are what keep Swiss healthcare startups from having a bright future 🤩, and we closed the day diving into the acceleration of the healthcare sector thanks to AI ✨

We want to thank the organizers for such energetic and successful event 🎤. We are already looking forward to next year's gathering!
