MEDIA RELEASE
Cook Islands Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education expresses its deep concern and disappointment following the recent vandalism at Titikaveka College.

This incident has caused significant damage to school property, including classrooms, learning equipment, and essential resources. Beyond the physical destruction, acts like this have a wider impact on our entire community; disrupting learning, affecting students and staff, and placing additional strain on families and school support systems. This behavior is not acceptable and does not reflect the values we uphold as a community.

We would like to sincerely thank the members of the local community who stepped forward to assist with the clean up efforts, as well as the Teacher Training College students, PTA members and staff who generously gave their time to help restore the school. Your support, commitment, and care are deeply appreciated and demonstrate the strength of our community.

We urge anyone who may have information regarding this incident to come forward and speak with the Police. Your cooperation is important in ensuring accountability and preventing further incidents.

The Ministry stands with Titikaveka College, its students, staff, and families. Together, we must continue to protect our schools as safe and respectful environments for learning.

Let us all work together to ensure this does not happen again.
