LIMBE CITY MAYOR COMMISSIONS NEWLY CONSTRUCTED FRESH FOOD MARKET TO VENDORS

The Limbe City Mayor has officially commissioned the first occupants at the newly constructed fresh food Market at the Old Market- New Town. This market is a mordinised traditional/hybrid market with provisions of a smart market.
Dr. Paul EFOME L. M. NGALE personally conducted the commissioning excercise recently during a balloting session at the said market. The commissioning comes days after a communiqué was made public to invite all interested fresh food vendors to show up and stand chance to own a shade through the most transparent way possible.
At the end of the balloting excercise, a total of about 80 shades were given out to the lucky traders who we're now given time to pay the rents and kick off with their businesses.
Speaking during the occasion, Dr. Paul told traders this was an effort by the Limbe city Council to modernise their commercial activity and improve on the hygienic surrounding binding the sales of foodstuffs. This move shall give a befitting environment for the sales of food stuffs and thereby considerably reducing health hazards caused by cunsuming poorly exposed food stuffs. *With all details made to favour e-commerce, the fresh food market shall help boost customer affluence here.*

It should be noted that, the Limbe City Mayor warned the new occupants that failure to comply with their rents in due time, shall see their shades handed to those that are more willing to do so.
In the end, the traders expressed their gratitude to the young dynamic city mayor, Dr Paul Efome L M Ngale.

All roads today Thursday, 27 August lead to Limbe for the Semi finals games of the on-going Limbe City Council Inter Quarter Football Tournament Fresh Edition V, 2026 as two scintillating, mouth-watering and not -to- miss games take place at the Community Field beginning 1pm.

History holds that, it is the first time all four semi finallists have qualified into this stage of this Football extravanga rated as the *best* *organized* , *mediatized* and *crowd* - *pulling* *Tournament* in the whole of *Central* and *West* *Africa* .

Therefore, history will be made as the champions of this year Fresh Edition V of the tournament will lift the trophy for the very first time.

Will it be Moliwe Fc, Brother’s Keeper, Bimbia Boys or Caterpillar Field? The answer will definitely be gotten only at the close of hostilities next weekend in Limbe where the final has been programmed to take place at the historic aged-old Limbe Centenary Stadium

LIMBE CITY COUNCIL BAGS THREE MAJOR DISTINCTIONS DURING THE 2026 GOLDEN AWARD IN DOUALA

The Lord City Mayor of the Limbe City Council and two of his staff have earned major recognitions during the just held 7th Edition of the Goldern Award which held on Saturday 22nd August 2026 in Douala.
Dr. Paul EFOME L. M NGALE was awarded The Most Resilient City Council Mayor in the Local Administration category. His ability to assure a good functioning of the city Council despite well known challenges was the determining factor. The recognition was decerned to Dr. Paul EFOME after thourough investigations by a jury of 20 selected investigative journalists drawn from 5 regions of the country.
Still during this award night, Limbe City Council's BAU NGOH Francis was crowned Best Public Relations Officer in the Media corporate Communication category. His extensive work on fully communicating on the actions, policies and activities of the Limbe City Council for the wellbeing of the population and development of the municipality earned him that distinction.
The third LCC Staff to be primed at "The Golden Award" was Mrs Bridget JINGE. Her passionate and tireless involvement in the wellbeing of her community earned her the distinction of Best Female Community Leader.
All awards were handed by the very celebrated Sir Dr. Barr. NTUMFOR Nico HALLE.
it should be noted that the Golden Award is an annual initiative by investigative journalists aimed at celebrating outstanding Cameroonians whose work inspires positive change. The 7th edition honored excellence in governance, public service, business, and community leadership.

DR. PAUL EFOME JOINS HUNDREDS OF MOURNERS AS REMAINS OF TWO LANDSLIDE VICTIMS ​COMMENCE FINAL JOURNEY

Sadness engulfed all mourners who converged at the morgue of the Regional Hospital Limbe on Thursday August 20th, for the removal of the mortal remains of DUH F***y and MEH Pascaline IKA.
The deceased are two of the three members of the same family who unfortunately lost their lives following the recent landslide which occured at Mokeba Farms in Mbende Quarters -Limbe.
Amongst the hundreds of mourners were the Limbe City Mayor and the Mayor of Limbe I.
Dr. Paul EFOME L. M NGALE took the floor to once again express on behalf of the entire municipality, heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He equally extended the compassion of the administration and the state while encouraging the family to be strong and trust God in every sitiations. The lone survivor and head of that family Mr. MEH James DUH was comforted and encouraged to be strong for his family depended on him.
From the morgue, the corpses were taking to mile two Former Guarantee Park for viewing and chruch service.
The rest of the funeral program indicates that the mortal remains shall be transported to Esu this Thursday August 20th and on Friday 21st, traditional rights and church service shall be done followed by burial.

LONE LANDSLIDE SURVIVOR SHOWS APPRECIATION TO LIMBE CITY MAYOR FOR SUPPORT AND SOLIDARITY

The lone survivor of the tragic landslide that killed 3 members of his family at Mokeba Farms has expressed his appreciation to Limbe City Mayor for all the support he mobilised since suffering that predicament. Mr James MEH made the remarks during a visit to the office of Dr. Paul EFOME L. M. NGALE on Friday 14 August 2026.
The Limbe City Mayor was pleased to see him greatly recovered and looking so strong. The visit of Mr. James MEH also revealed his happiness after receiving the Presidential financial support which the Minister of Territorial Administration H. E. Paul ATANGA NJI announced during his recent visit.
The City Mayor encouraged the Survivor to pick-up from the tragic past and forge ahead in life because it's God's doing that he survived.

DR. PAUL EFOME THANKFUL AS MINISTER ATANGA NJI BRINGS PRESIDENTIAL ASSISTANCE TO SUCCOUR LIMBE FLOOD AND LANDSLIDE VICTIMS

There was relief and gratitude in Limbe this Thursday 13th August 2026, as the Minister of Territorial Administration, H. E. Paul ATANGA NJI made a one-day visit to convey a special message of Compassion and hand relief materials sent by the President of the Republic, H.E. PAUL BIYA and First Lady, Mrs. Chantal Biya, to victims of the recent floods and landslide.
Accommpanied by the Governor of the South West Region, Fako SDO and Limbe City Mayor, MINAT kicked off by visiting Mr. James MEH the lone survivor of the tragic landslide that claimed 3 members of the same family, offering words of comfort and support.He made a stopover at the landslide site in Mokeba Farms Mbende, then visited the Limbe Wildlife Center (Zoo)where flood waters destroyed parts of the fence, and finally ended at flood affected areas in Clerks Quarters.
These field visits led to a final showdown at the LCC Conférence Hall where over 500 persons affected by floods and Landslides had gathered to welcome Minister Paul ATANGA NJI.
It was the occasion for the MINAT Boss to convey the sympathy of the presidential Couple and hand over to them household items.
Cueing after a succinct report by Governor Bernard OKALIA BILAI, the City Mayor Dr. Paul EFOME expressed profound appreciation to the President and First Lady.
He noted that though City Council makes efforts to mitigate effects, the scale of devastation calls for urgent sustainable intervention.
The City mayor pleaded for a government bailout to help address drainage, risk zones, and build resilient infrastructure in Limbe. Dr. Paul EFOME made requests for landspace to ressetle those evacuated from risk zones.
The Minister assured allall of government's will to find lasting solutions to challenges.

LCC TEAMS PROCEED TO MARKING HOUSES AND BUILDINGS FOUND IN RISK ZONE IN THE MUNICIPALITY

A technical team of Limbe City Council has commenced the identification and marking of all affected and endangered structures and habitations found in risk zones of the municipality. The marking exercise that shall be follewed by demolition expeditions kicked off on Wednesday August 12, targetting the Mokeba Farms zone in Mbende quarters where a family unfortunately lost three (3) members following a landslide.

This action is In implementation of Prefectoral Order N0 352/PO/G.37/C90/1AP issued by the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako on thursday, 6 August 2026, urging all inhabitants of the affected areas to permanently evacuate within two weeks.
According to the prefectoral order, all occupants of houses marked by the Limbe City Council are required to vacate the premises immediately and permanently. In every case, evacuation must be completed no later than Friday, 21 August 2026.
It's important to note that this measure is necessary to protect lives and property from further landslides, especially as heavy rainfall may continue. Residents are strongly advised not to ignore the evacuation instructions or return to buildings situated within the affected zones.

LIMBE CITY COUNCIL IN SOLIDARITY WITH VICTIMS OF RECENT LANDSLIDES AND FLOODS

In solidarity with families affected by the recent floods and landslide in Limbe, Limne City Mayor has extended an act of solodarity by offering relief materials to victims in the impacted communities.

The donation which took place on Monday August 11 at the Limbe City Council, saw Dr. Paul EFOME L. M. NGALE hand over a total of 30 bags of Rice (50kg each) to the quarterheads and representatives of Mokeba Farms and and BONDI quarter (quarter 30 of Bonadikombo). The essential supplies is to help ease the burden on those who lost homes and loved ones.
Speaking during the distribution, the City Mayor expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families and assured victims that the Council, in collaboration with administrative authorities and partners, will continue to stand with them during this difficult period.
He also used the occasion to reiterate the call for inhabitants in risk zones to heed government evacuation directives for their own safety.

LCC ACTIVE ON THE FIELD TO REPAIR DAMAGES CAUSED BY RECENT TORRENTIAL RAINS IN THE MUNICIPALITY

After taking stock of the damages caused by the recent exceptional rain in Limbe that caused floods and landslides, the Limbe City Council is swinging into action to rehabilitate certain road structures.
The LCC team instructed by the City Mayor *Dr. Paul EFOME L. M. NGALE* has started the cleaning of gutters and the main culvert at the comprehensive speed brakes. The ongoing work saw the team remove huge hips of debris, ground and plastic that blocked this channel following the heavy rains of August 5th 2026.
The work is expected to continue in other streets throughout the city. This action of the Limbe City Council which is part of the response plan to address damages caused, is expected to know a major booster from the government. This awaited extra push shall help rehabilitate roads, build bridges and construct better canalisation system in Limbe
