LIMBE CITY COUNCIL TEAMS INTENSITY THE ROUTINE CLEANING OF GUTTERS AND REMOVAL OF RAIN-FORMED DEBRIS WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY
The recent heavy rains that have downed on the city of Limbe have been exceptional this season. Consequently, its effects have been visible along major roads and streets of the municipality with blocked gutters and debris accumulating in certain areas.
The Limbe City Council has ever since been active in its routine duty to maintain sanity and give the city its ideal facelift.
Under the instruction of the Limbe City Mayor Dr Paul EFOME L.M. NGALE, the Hygiene and sanitation Service has engaged a series of impressive works on streets of the municipality. It was the case with the stretch at Mile 1 near the Women’s Empowerment Center right to the “ Visit Technique”where huge heaps of debris were removed from gutters. The quantity of debris evacuated from gutters on both sides of the road tells the devastating effects of the rains. Next was an intervention at former guarantee.
From there, the LCC Hygiene and Sanitation team led by Mr. NAKO Daniel channeled their focus on the church street market stretch. Here,effects of rains plus poor human activities have littered gutters and caused an unhealthy scenery. The hygiene and sanitation team armed with diggers, spades and wheelbarrows are diligently removing all waste and plastics that block the water channels. Looking at the density of activities and persons around this major commercial area, the LCC team shall use a few more days to clear away the debris removed from the gutters and completely clean the zone.
The Limbe City Mayor Dr. Paul EFOME L.M. NGALE has prescribed more of such intervention and has deployed several teams throughout the municipality who are working simultaneously to maintain the city’s sanity.
As the rains gradually give away intensity, many other actions of the Limbe City council shall come in-force such as the imminent dredging of the Njengele river.
