Dans le cadre de la lutte contre le grand banditisme et la criminalitΓ©, la Compagnie de Gendarmerie de l’AΓ©roport International de Douala a menΓ©, le 27 aoΓ»t 2026, une opΓ©ration Β« coup de poing Β» au lieu-dit Newton AΓ©roport.

Cette intervention, menΓ©e Γ  la suite de renseignements faisant Γ©tat de l’existence d’un parking clandestin servant de lieu de regroupement prΓ©sumΓ© d’un gang de braqueurs, a permis l’interpellation de 13 suspects et la perquisition de deux chambres qu’ils occupaient.

Les Γ©lΓ©ments saisis au cours de l’opΓ©ration comprennent notamment 46 motos sans piΓ¨ces justificatives, 42 sacs Γ  dos, 17 valises, 11 poignards, 02 scies, 21 filons d’herbes d’origines diverses, 07 filons de gris-gris, 52 clΓ©s de dΓ©pannage de motos, 27 tΓ©lΓ©phones portables, 04 appareils musicaux neufs, ainsi que plusieurs stocks de bijoux, parfums, vΓͺtements et chaussures neufs.

Les Γ©lΓ©ments de Compagnie de Gendarmerie de l’AΓ©roport International de Douala ont Γ©galement dΓ©couvert 07 actes de naissance, 11 Cartes Nationale d’IdentitΓ©, 03 cartes bancaires, 02 cachets nominatifs et 09 plaquettes de mΓ©dicaments.

Conduits sous bonne es**rte Γ  l’UnitΓ©, les suspects font l’objet d’une enquΓͺte afin d’établir leur implication dans les faits prΓ©sumΓ©s.

Γ€ l’issue de la procΓ©dure, ils seront dΓ©fΓ©rΓ©s au parquet du Tribunal de PremiΓ¨re Instance de Douala-Bonanjo.

As part of the fight against large-scale banditry and organized crime, the Douala International Airport Gendarmerie Company carried out a raid at the NewTown neighborhood on August 27, 2026.

Acting on reliable information about the existence of an illegal parking lot that served as an alleged gathering point of a robbery gang, the operation led to the arrest of 13 suspects and the search of the two rooms they were occupying.

In the course of the operation, 46 motorcycles without supporting documents, 42 backpacks, 17 suitcases, 11 daggers, 02 saws, 21 raps of various types of herbs, 07 raps of gris-gris, 52 motorcycle repair keys, 27 mobile phones, 04 new music devices and several stocks of new jewelry, perfumes, clothes and shoes were seized.

Elements of the Douala International Airport Gendarmerie Company also discovered 07 birth certificates, 11 national identity cards, 03 bank cards, 02 stamps and 09 blister packs.

Under tight security, the suspects were led to the Douala International Airport Gendarmerie Unit where an investigation will determine their involvement in the alleged events.

After the proceedings, they will be referred to the Douala-Bonanjo Court of First Instance.

Les éléments du Service des Recherches Judiciaires et de la Lutte contre le Grand Banditisme de la Première Région de Gendarmerie (SRJ/PRG) ont mis fin à la cavale du présumé assassin du nommé ZOLLO EYIA Paul Gérard, Ògé de 25 ans. En fuite depuis 10 jours, Karl ESSAME, 28 ans, plus connu sur les réseaux sociaux sous le pseudonyme "Liam Karl" a été interpellé le 25 août 2026 à Messamena, dans la Région de l'Est.

Les faits remontent au 15 aoΓ»t 2026 oΓΉ le corps sans vie de la victime prΓ©sentant des traces de violence a Γ©tΓ© retrouvΓ© dans sa chambre au quartier Logpom Γ  Douala. L'exploitation des images des camΓ©ras de surveillance a permis d'identifier le suspect. Les investigations menΓ©es ont rΓ©vΓ©lΓ© que ce dernier s'Γ©tait rΓ©fugiΓ© dans la RΓ©gion de l'Est.

C'est ainsi que dans le cadre de la poursuite de l'enquΓͺte, les Γ©lΓ©ments du SRJ/PRG sont descendus sur les lieux, dans un village situΓ© Γ  40 kilomΓ¨tres de Messamena, oΓΉ le suspect a Γ©tΓ© apprΓ©hendΓ© alors qu'il s'apprΓͺtait Γ  se rendre Γ  Bengbis avec la complicitΓ© de son pΓ¨re. RamenΓ© Γ  YaoundΓ© pour exploitation, le prΓ©sumΓ© assassin est passΓ© aux aveux complets. Il a Γ©galement affirmΓ© avoir dΓ©pouillΓ© sa victime d'une somme de 800.000 FCFA ; d'un tΓ©lΓ©phone d'une valeur de 1,2 million de FCFA et plusieurs objets de valeur aprΓ¨s son forfait.

A en croire le Lieutenant-Colonel ETOUA Julien Fredy, Chef d'Etat-Major de la PRG, le Tiktokeur a Γ΄tΓ© la vie Γ  sa victime au cours d'une bagarre. En effet, le prΓ©sumΓ© meurtrier voulait dΓ©pouiller de force son ami de ses biens. Β« Il avait des problΓ¨mes financiers. Cet argent indΓ»ment emportΓ© lui a servi Γ  payer quatre mois d'arriΓ©rΓ©s de loyer et prΓ©parer la layette de sa copine. Sieur Karl ESSAME reconnait Γ©galement Γͺtre un consommateur de stupΓ©fiants depuis plusieurs annΓ©es Β», a dΓ©clarΓ© l'Officier SupΓ©rieur.

Le prΓ©sumΓ© assassin sera conduit sous bonne es**rte Γ  l'Etat-Major de la DeuxiΓ¨me RΓ©gion de Gendarmerie Γ  Douala pour la poursuite de l'enquΓͺte.

Elements of the Service in charge of Criminal Investigations and fight against Organised Crime of the First Gendarmerie Region (SRJ/PRG) arrested the alleged murdered of ZOLLO EYIA Paul GΓ©rard, aged 25. On the run since 10 days now, Karl ESSAME, 28 year-old, better known on social media as β€œLiam Karl”, was arrested on 25 August 2026 in Messamena, in the East Region.

The events date back to 15 August 2026, when the victim’s lifeless body, showing signs of violence was found in his bedroom in Logpom, a Douala neighbourhood. Analysis of surveillance camera footage made it possible to identify the suspect. Investigations carried out revealed that he had fled to the East Region.

Consequently, as part of the ongoing investigation, elements of the SRJ/PRG raided a village situated 40 kilometres from Messamena, where the suspect was arrested as he was preparing to travel to Bengbis with the help of his father. Taken back to Yaounde for questioning, the alleged murderer made a full confession. He also admitted to having robbed his victim of 800,000 CFA francs, a mobile phone worth 1.2 million CFA francs and several other valuables after committing the crime.

According to Lieutenant-Colonel ETOUA Julien Fredy, Chief of Staff of the First Gendarmerie Region, the Tiktoker killed the victim during a fight. Indeed, the alleged murderer intended to forcibly rob his friend of his belongings. The Senior Officer stated that he had financial difficulties. He used the money he had unlawfully taken to pay four months rent arrears and to buy baby clothes for his girlfriend. Mr Karl ESSAME also admitted to having been a drug user for several years.

The alleged murderer will be taken under heavy es**rt to the Headquarters of the Second Gendarmerie Region in Douala for futher investigation.

The Service in charge of Criminal Investigations and fight against organised Crime of the First Gendarmerie Region opened an investigation following a report on 12 August 2026, from the family of a 19-year-old girl named YIDI EBABI Diane after her body was discovered in a makeshift grave at a place called β€˜β€™Dakar en bas’’ in the Efoulan neighbourhood.

The investigation led to the arrest of the victim’s boyfriend, who was on the run since his crime, on 17 August 2026 in a notorious drug trafficking area at a place called "Mokolo Elobi". While being questioned at the First Gendarmerie Region, the suspect, aged 22, made a full confession.
During the reconstruction of events at the crime scene on 20 August 2026, the alleged murderer stated that he had welcomed the deceased into his home on 9 August and strangled her following an altercation. He then kept her body in his bedroom during two days before going out alone at night to bury her behind his house in a shallow grave that he had dug two days before the crime. According to the neighbourhood chief, it was the smell of body barely buried that alerted the neighbours, leading to the discovery of the grave.
According to Lieutenant-Colonel ETOUA Julien Freddy, Chief of Staff of the First Gendarmerie Region, the motive for the murder remains unclear, as the suspect initially claimed to have committed the crime because he had discovered that the victim was pregnant by another man. He then claimed that he had killed his girlfriend because of a debt of 50,000 FCFA that she kept demanding he repay.

The alleged murderer has been brought before the courts to be held accountable.

Saisi le 12 aoΓ»t 2026 par la famille de la nommΓ©e YIDI EBABI Diane, Γ’gΓ©e de 19 ans, suite Γ  la dΓ©couverte de son cadavre dans une tombe de fortune au lieu-dit Dakar en bas au quartier Efoulan, le Service de Recherches Judiciaires et de la Lutte contre le Grand Banditisme de la PremiΓ¨re RΓ©gion de Gendarmerie a ouvert une enquΓͺte.

Les investissements ont conduit Γ  l'interpellation du petit ami de la victime, en fuite depuis son forfait, le 17 aoΓ»t 2026 dans un coin rΓ©putΓ© de trafic de stupΓ©fiants Γ  Mokolo Elobi. Conduit Γ  l'UnitΓ© de cΓ©ans pour exploitation, le suspect, Γ’gΓ© de 22 ans, est passΓ© aux aveux complets.

Au cours de la reconstitution des faits sur le lieu du crime, le 20 août 2026, le présumé assassin a déclaré avoir reçu la défunte chez lui le 09 août dernier et l'a étranglée après une dispute. Il a ensuite gardé son corps pendant deux jours dans sa chambre avant d'aller l'enterrer nuitamment tout seul derrière son domicile dans une tombe peu profonde qu'il avait creusée deux jours avant son forfait. A en croire le Chef du quartier, c'est l'odeur de la dépouille à peine ensevelie qui a alerté le voisinage jusqu'à la découverte de la tombe.

D'aprΓ¨s le Lieutenant-Colonel ETOUA Julien Freddy, Chef d'Etat-Major de la PremiΓ¨re RΓ©gion de Gendarmerie, le mobile du meurtre reste flou, car le mis en cause affirme d'abord avoir commis ce drame parce qu'il aurait dΓ©couvert que la victime Γ©tait enceinte d'un autre homme. Puis, qu’il avait tuΓ© sa copine Γ  cause d'une dette de 50.000 FCFA qu'elle ne cessait de lui rΓ©clamer.

Le prΓ©sumΓ© assassin a Γ©tΓ© mis Γ  la disposition de la justice pour rΓ©pondre de son crime.
