MASTER OF CAMOUFLAGE IN THE FOREST UNDERSTORY. 🍃

The Scaled Antpitta (Grallaria guatimalensis) is a terrestrial bird of the Grallariidae family, recognized by its olive-brown plumage with distinctive dark scaling across the upperparts, short tail and remarkably long legs. It inhabits humid tropical and montane forests, where it forages quietly on the forest floor for insects, spiders and other small invertebrates.

Secretive by nature, it relies on its exceptional camouflage and is more often detected by its vocalizations than by sight.

UNA EXPERTA EN CAMUFLARSE ENTRE EL BOSQUE. 🌳

El Tororoi Dorsiescamado (Grallaria guatimalensis) es un ave terrestre de la familia Grallariidae, reconocida por su plumaje café oliváceo con un característico patrón escamado en el dorso, su cola corta y sus largas patas. Habita el sotobosque de bosques húmedos tropicales, donde busca insectos, arañas y otros pequeños invertebrados.

Su comportamiento discreto y su extraordinario camuflaje hacen que sea mucho más fácil escucharla que observarla, convirtiendo cada encuentro en un verdadero privilegio para los amantes del avistamiento de aves.
