You will have an opportunity to learn about and help animals you would likely not have the opportunity to encounter in the wild. As a non-profit organization, we think its important for you to know that 100% of your donation is going to feed, care for, give veterinary care, improve habitats and so much

These are our latest observations from the camera traps.
A glimpse into what happens when no one is around. 🌿

Every clip helps us better understand which animals are present in each area and identify the most suitable release sites for the animals in our care.

Special thanks to Idea Wild for supporting this work by donating camera traps through their grant program and to the property owners, who allow us to continue this research by maintaining private conservation areas that help protect local wildlife and habitats.

Un vistazo a lo que ocurre cuando no hay nadie alrededor. 🌿

Cada registro nos ayuda a entender qué especies utilizan cada área y a identificar los sitios más adecuados para la liberación de los animales bajo nuestro cuidado.

Frida has officially started a new chapter. 🌿

Frida was originally found inside a backpack after being kept as a pet and confiscated near the border with Panama. Since she was already in Costa Rica, the Panamanian government did not accept her return into their territory. She also cannot be released in Costa Rica, as owl monkeys are not native to this country and she would be considered an invasive species.

After 10 years at Alturas, trying to find a better place for her, she has now been finally transferred to Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center, where she’ll have more space and the opportunity to gradually socialize with other small primates.

Frida is now beginning a three-month trial period, including quarantine, and is being closely monitored on how she adapts to her new environment and future introductions.

A huge thank you to the team at Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center for collaborating with us to give Frida this opportunity.
We’ll continue sharing updates along the way. 💚

Frida oficialmente ha comenzado un nuevo capítulo. 🌿

Después de 10 años en Alturas, ahora ha sido trasladada a Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center, donde tendrá más espacio y la oportunidad de socializar gradualmente con otros pequeños primates.

Frida ahora está comenzando un período de prueba de tres meses, incluyendo cuarentena, y estará siendo monitoreada de cerca para ver cómo se adapta a su nuevo entorno y a las futuras introducciones.

Un enorme agradecimiento al equipo de Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center por colaborar con nosotros para darle esta oportunidad a Frida.

We recently visited the team at Costa Rica Coral Restoration and got a closer look at the work they’re doing to protect and restore coral reefs here in Costa Rica. 🌊

Corals might seem distant from what we do every day…but they’re not: healthy reefs support entire marine ecosystems, and those ecosystems are deeply connected to the health of our planet as a whole.
When corals disappear, the impact goes far beyond the ocean.
That’s why projects like theirs matter.

Recientemente visitamos al equipo de Costa Rica Coral Restoration y pudimos conocer más de cerca el trabajo que realizan para proteger y restaurar los arrecifes de coral aquí en Costa Rica. 🌊

Los corales pueden parecer algo lejano a lo que hacemos cada día… pero no lo son: los arrecifes saludables sostienen ecosistemas marinos enteros, y estos ecosistemas están profundamente conectados con la salud de nuestro planeta en su conjunto.

Rescues don’t stop when funding does.

If enough people contribute the small amount of 10$, we can collectively cover the care needed to treat and rehabilitate our next patients.

Sea turtles play a vital role in keeping marine ecosystems healthy, and being able to receive and treat them when they arrive is essential.
