AN ALLE AUSWANDERER NACH COSTA RICA:
Ihr Enscheid ist gefallen. Costa Rica wird Ihre Wahlheimat. Herzliche Gratulation! Sie haben sich für eines der zauberhaftesten Länder der Erde entschieden. Nun geht es an die Haussuche.
Sie möchten gerne am Meer wohnen? Sehr schön! Beachten Sie unbedingt den Abstand zum Ozean! Tsunami-Gefahr.
Ach ja, wenn wir beim Thema “Tsunami” sind: denken Sie unbedingt daran, dass Ihr künftiges Traumhaus nach den (strengen) Vorschriften des Staates bezüglich Erdbebensicherheit gebaut worden ist!
Sie mögen die gute Erreichbarkeit Ihres zukünftigen Hauses, möchten aber trotzdem nicht in einer touristisch übervölkerten Region wohnen?
Sie möchten möglichst viel Sonne das ganze Jahr über? Nicht nur für das Gemüt und die Gesundheit, denn mit viel Sonne kann das Warmwasser und allenfalls sogar der gesamte Strom (der in Costa Rica sehr, sehr teuer ist) über Panels eingefangen und genutzt werden.
Sie mögen eher keine Stadtnähe?
Sie möchten ausserhalb der aktiven Vulkane leben, damit Sie nie dem Aschestaub ausgesetzt sind?
Sie haben Tiere? Sie möchten noch mehr Tiere? Dafür braucht es ausreichend Platz.
All diese Punkte bringen Sie nach Guanacaste, in die Sonnenstube Costa Ricas! Nun haben Sie bereits eine grobe Vorstellung, wo Sie gerne wohnen würden. Jetzt ist aber immer noch die Qual der Wahl. Es gibt so viele wunderbare, zauberhafte Anwesen, welche alle diese Wünsche erfüllen könnten.
Nun geht es an die Verfeinerung der Suche: Der Liegenschaftspreis ist sicher ein ganz zentrales Thema. Denken Sie immer daran, dass Bilder im Internet niemals eine intensive Besichtigung ersetzen!!! Bilder trügen. Gehen Sie hin. Lassen Sie das Grundstück und die Baute auf sich wirken. Wann wurde das Haus erstellt? Noch viel, viel wichtiger ist aber die Frage: wie gepflegt ist alles? Wird Unterhalt gemacht? In den Tropen ist diese Frage und Prüfung eminet wichtig. Wie sieht der allfällige Pool aus? Die Umgebung?
Sie haben Ausbauwünsche? Sie möchten die Möglichkeit haben, auf dem Grundstück noch selber zu bauen?
Gäste sollen auch immer wieder zu Besuch kommen und ihre Privatsphäre bei Ihnen zuhause kriegen. Das wäre ebenfalls Ihr Traum?

Jetzt haben Sie ein paar Grundstücke ins Visier gefasst.
Hier kommt nun der abschliessend ultimativ entscheidende Punkt:
HABE ICH DAS GANZE JAHR GENÜGEND WASSER? Diese Frage MÜSSEN Sie sich stellen. Niemand, der verkaufen möchte, wird Sie darauf hinweisen, dass Sie im Sommer allenfalls Tage und Wochen tagsüber KEIN Wasser zur Verfügung haben!! Die staatliche Wasserversorgung hat auch in diesem Sommer tagsüber in weiten Gebieten überall im ganzen Land das Wasser eingestellt. Keine Möglichkeit, Hände zu waschen, Mittagessen zu kochen…. Pool? Tropengarten? Denken Sie daran!! Das ist eine ganz, ganz zentralere Frage!!

You would like to live by the sea? Very nice! Please be carefull to the distance to the ocean! Caution: Tsunami. By the way, talking about "Tsunami", you have to think about your future dream house having been built according to the (strict) state regulations regarding seismic safety!
You would like a good accessibility of your future home to any other facility, but you still do not want to live in a overpopulated touristic region? You want as much sun as possible throughout the year? Good for mind and body, with lot of sun, you might heat your hot water systems and further on may be collecting sunpower to avoid very expensiv costarican electic power? You do not like being near the city? You want to live outside the active volcanoes, so you are never exposed to ash dust? You have animals? You want more animals, so you need enough space for them?
All these points will bring you to Guanacaste, the sunniest spot of Costa Rica!
Now you already have a rough idea of where you would like to live. But now, you need to choose! There are so many wonderful, enchanting properties that could fulfill all these wishes. Now it's time to improve your search: the real estate price is certainly a very important and central issue. Always remember that pictures on the internet never, never replace a visit !!! Pictures never tell the full truth. Go and have a look and your very own impression. Let the property and the building get set on you. When has the construction been built? Very important is the question: how is the maintenance of everything? In the tropics, this question is of eminet importancy. How does the pool looks like? The environment? Would you like to have the opportunity to build more on your future property? Guests will visit you and get their own privacy at your home. That would be your dream as well? You still work via internet?
Now you have a few properties on your list of interests. By now, here is the ultimate final point: DOES THE PROPERTY HAVE ENOUGH WATER ALL YEAR ROUND? You MUST ask this question. Nobody who wants to sell, will point out that during the summer at most days and weeks during daytime there is NO water available! The public water supplier this summer again stopped suppling water in wide areas throughout the country. No way to wash hands, cook lunch .... Pool? Tropical Garden? Remember !! That's a very, very central question !!
