A few weeks ago, Secretary of State Rubio visited several countries in the Caribbean, including Jamaica, Guyana, and Suriname. The visit highlighted the importance of U.S. partnerships in the Caribbean and the collaborative work for regional security, countering transnational crime, and supporting economic opportunities. During his visit to Jamaica, Secretary Rubio also met with leaders from Haiti, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago as partners critical to regional security.

Earlier this month, Secretary of State, Marco Rubio concluded his visit to Costa Rica, having strengthened the vital partnership between the U.S. and Costa Rica. He emphasized the importance of a strong foreign policy in which the U.S. supports its allies such as Costa Rica. During meetings with President Rodrigo Chaves and members of the U.S. embassy, Secretary Rubio highlighted shared priorities, such as deepening economic ties and combating organized crime. He also praised Costa Rica as a model for the vision the U.S. has for the region and countries worldwide.
