American Corner Novi Sad is one of the 7 American Corners in Serbia and one of the 400 Corners in over 60 countries world wide. Main goal of this center is to inform wider public about American culture, history and important events in the USA throughout available literature and magazines as well as through various programs we organize. American Corner Novi Sad was founded on October 6 2004 as a co
mmon project between American Embassy in Belgrade and Cultural Center of Novi Sad. Sponsored jointly by the U.S. Embassy, Belgrade and Novi Sad Cultural Center, the American Corner serves as an information outpost similar to a public library reference service. ACNS hosts a wide variety of events, such as:
- Conversational hours,
- Cultural programs and guest lectures from U.S.
- Presentations,
- Film and video showings,
- English Language Teachers Trainings
- Business English Conversation Program
- Book Club,
- Kids' Corner and story hours
- Workshops
and many other events. In the field of education, we provide student advising for study in U.S. and the American Corner serves as an alumni center where Serbian citizens who have been to the United States on exchange programs can gather and keep in touch with each other and with their American contacts. American Corner consists of a collection of books in English about the U.S. The book collection includes reference titles, works of fiction, business and government publications.
