🇭🇹 🇷🇴 🌍 En juin dernier, le média haïtien Le Quotidien 509 consacrait un article à ma candidature au Secrétariat général de la Francophonie.
Le débat qu'il soulève reste plus actuel que jamais : quelle Francophonie voulons-nous construire ?

Je me réjouis que cette réflexion mobilise des médias de toutes les régions de l'espace francophone, y compris en Haïti. Dans la Francophonie que je défends, chaque État compte. Chaque voix compte.

L'avenir de notre communauté se construit avec l'ensemble de ses membres, dans le respect de leur diversité, de leur expérience et de leur contribution.

Ma vision pour la : une Francophonie fondée sur l'égalité entre ses membres, où le dialogue et les idées circulent dans toutes les régions de notre espace commun.

🇷🇴 🌍 🇭🇹 În luna iunie, publicația haitiană Le Quotidien 509 a dedicat un articol candidaturii mele la funcția de Secretar general al Francofoniei.
Dezbaterea pe care o deschide este mai actuală ca oricând: ce fel de Francofonie vrem să construim?

Mă bucur că această reflecție implică presa din toate regiunile spațiului francofon, inclusiv din Haiti. În Francofonia pe care o susțin, fiecare stat contează. Fiecare voce contează. Viitorul comunității noastre se construiește împreună cu toți membrii săi, cu respect pentru diversitatea, experiența și contribuția fiecăruia.

Viziunea mea pentru este cea a unei Francofonii întemeiate pe egalitatea între membrii săi, în care dialogul și ideile circulă liber în toate regiunile spațiului nostru comun.

On the margins of the Fifty-First Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM in Saint Lucia, H.E. Theodora Mircea, Ambassador of Romania, held bilateral meetings with H.E. Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, and H.E. Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti.

The discussions focused on Romania's candidature for the position of Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) for the 2027–2030 mandate.
Ambassador Mircea presented the candidature of Mr. Dacian Cioloș and underlined Romania's vision for a more dynamic, inclusive and action-oriented Francophonie, founded on dialogue, solidarity and sustainable development.

On this occasion, Ambassador Mircea handed over the original letters signed by H.E. Mr. Nicuşor Dan, the President of Romania, addressed to the Prime Ministers of the Commonwealth of Dominica and the Republic of Haiti, requesting their support for Romania's candidature in the forthcoming election of the Secretary-General of the OIF.

The meetings also provided an opportunity to reaffirm the excellent bilateral relations between Romania and the two Caribbean partner states and the interest to explore ways of further enhancing cooperation in areas of common interest, including political dialogue, education, trade and investment, climate resilience and sustainable development.

Romania remains committed to strengthening its partnerships with both the Commonwealth of Dominica and the Republic of Haiti, while advancing dialogue and cooperation within the Francophone community and other multilateral frameworks.

🇷🇴🇱🇨 Romanian culture brings people together in Saint Lucia

On the occasion of the visit of H.E. Theodora Mircea, Ambassador of Romania to Saint Lucia, the Embassy of Romania hosted a cultural evening celebrating dialogue, friendship, and the power of the arts to bring people and nations closer together.

The programme opened with the inauguration of the "Brâncuși 150" exhibition, marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of Constantin Brâncuși, one of the pioneers of modern sculpture and one of Romania’s greatest contributions to the world’s cultural heritage.

Organized in partnership with the Alliance Française of Saint Lucia, the exhibition also celebrated the shared values of the Francophonie and Brâncuși’s enduring connection with France, where he created many of his most celebrated works. The evening continued with the screening of the Romanian feature film "The Secret of Pin Up Island", offering the audience a glimpse into contemporary Romanian cinema.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Theodora Mircea emphasized the role of cultural diplomacy:
"Through Brâncuși’s timeless vision and through the lens of contemporary Romanian cinema, we invite you to discover not only a part of Romania’s soul, but also the values that unite our societies: creativity, resilience, openness, and the belief that culture can build bridges where geography cannot."

The Embassy expresses its sincere appreciation to the authorities of Saint Lucia, the Alliance Française of Saint Lucia, the Honorary Consulate of Romania in Saint Lucia, and all partners whose valuable support, hospitality, and commitment made this event possible.

Culture remains one of the most effective instruments of diplomacy, fostering dialogue, mutual understanding, and lasting friendships between peoples. As an active member of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, Romania remains committed to promoting dialogue, linguistic diversity, and international cooperation through culture.

🇷🇴🇱🇨 Ambassador of Romania to Saint Lucia, Theodora Mircea, is participating alongside fellow EU ambassadors at the 51st Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), held under the theme "From Resilience to Renewal in a Changing World." 🤝

The Meeting brings together regional leaders, members of the diplomatic corps and international partners to discuss key priorities for the Caribbean, including sustainable development🌱, climate resilience🌍, economic cooperation📈, regional integration and stronger international partnerships.

Romania remains committed to strengthening its cooperation with Saint Lucia and the CARICOM Member States, while promoting meaningful dialogue and mutually beneficial partnerships based on shared values and common interests.

🇷🇴🇱🇨 Ambassador of Romania to Saint Lucia, Theodora Mircea, met with Mr. Nicholas Barnard, President of the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, together with members of the Chamber, for a constructive discussion on strengthening economic ties and expanding the Romania–Saint Lucia business partnership🤝.

The discussions highlighted Romania’s interest in deepening economic engagement, building on the successful 2025 multi-sectoral business mission of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Barbados, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Cuba🌍.

Romania also expressed its openness to organizing a similar business mission that could include Saint Lucia, with the aim of encouraging new business partnerships and expanding commercial exchanges between the two countries.

💼 Trade, 📈 investment and 🏭 industry were highlighted as priority areas for future collaboration. 🏝️ Tourism was also identified as a sector with strong potential, including through the exchange of best practices in destination management, tourism promotion, vocational training and sustainable tourism development.

Ambassador Mircea reaffirmed Romania’s commitment to building a practical, forward-looking partnership with Saint Lucia and expressed confidence that the meeting would pave the way for concrete initiatives and new opportunities for cooperation between the two business communities🤝🇷🇴🇱🇨.
