There is a secret inside every piece of Olive wood

For years, we’ve worked at our bench in Lageia, surrounded by the scent of fresh shavings and the stubborn beauty of local Cyprus Olive Trees. We don’t just carve objects; we try to listen to what the wood wants to become.

Today, we wanted to show you where these spirits go when they dream.

These pieces was born from a gnarled branch in our village, but here, in this misty digital forest, it finally finds its ‘soul-home.’ It’s a blend of our hands-on craft and a little bit of modern magic.

From functional items to these whimsical guardians, everything at Layia Village Crafts is made with heart, history, and a lot of sawdust.

We’re curious—if this spirit could tell you one forest secret, what do you think it would be?

Shelter from the Storm
The mountain is taking a heavy drink today! ⛈️ While the rain beats against the Den window, we’ve moved the workshop inside.

It’s the perfect moment to see how our worlds collide: Lynn’s vibrant village scenes bringing color to the mist, and the deep, ancient grain of our 2017 olive wood. We’re using this quiet time to refine the "Guardian’s Journal" and prepare for the road ahead.

Our journey has come full circle — from the very beginnings of the famous stunning olive wood of Cyprus, to bee hotels, and now back to olive wood once again. We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to Yioula and Panayiotis at Troodos Network for their unwavering continued support over so many years, helping not only us, but also in showcasing the nine honey villages, including our own village of Lageia in the rural Larnaca district, and also supporting local crafts a major inspiration to all THANK YOU. What began as a hobby working with olive wood which evolved into bee hotels and has now returned back to olive wood, where we also create Lynn’s artwork inspired by village life of the village's communitys. The link throughout has always been natural beeswax, we still use from Andreas & Agapi Militiadous local beekeepers in Lageia village to protect our precious olive wood and it's stunning grain. We also sincerely thank the Larnaka Tourism Board Nana Pavlou for the support of the nine honey routes re- villages though out the great fire 2001 and Covid. We are so proud to have been part of this stunning journey and to have met so many wonderful people along the way.
