๐ŸŒŸ CJPU Delivers the STARs Programme at Akrotiri Primary School ๐ŸŒŸ

Over the last couple of weeks, the CJPU has delivered the STARs (Stop: Whatโ€™s Happening? Think: What Could Happen? Remember: What Youโ€™ve Learnt) programme to Year 3 and Year 4 pupils at Akrotiri Primary School.

Around 90 children took part in five one-hour sessions designed to help them make positive choices, stay safe, and build confidence.

โญ Year 3 โ€“ Shooting STaRS

Topics included:

โ€ข Friendships
โ€ข The risks of va**ng
โ€ข Diversity and inclusion
โ€ข Staying safe outside the home
โ€ข Online safety

โญ Year 4 โ€“ Mega STaRS

Topics included:

โ€ข Peer pressure
โ€ข Alcohol awareness
โ€ข Healthy lifestyles
โ€ข Staying safe outside the home
โ€ข Sharing media safely online

The STARs programme aims to educate young people about the choices they make, the potential consequences of those choices, and the importance of developing healthy habits and positive behaviours.

It also provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen positive relationships between young people and the military police.

A huge thank you to the staff and pupils at Akrotiri Primary School for their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the programme. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿš“ Community Safety Update

The Community Police Team, SBA Police, worked together to carry out seatbelt and speed enforcement checks as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our military community safe.

These proactive checks are designed to encourage safe driving habits, reduce the risk of serious collisions, and help ensure everyone gets to their destination safely. Thank you to the many drivers who were driving responsibly and supporting these efforts.

Please be aware that similar joint enforcement and road safety checks will be taking place in the near future in Episkopi and Dhekelia. We encourage everyone to:

* Always wear your seatbelt.
* Stick to the posted speed limits.
* Drive with care and consideration for other road users.

Together, we can make our roads safer for everyone.

๐Ÿš— A Friendly Reminder to Our Military Community ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ถ

We all play a part in keeping our community safe and accessible for everyone.

When parking your vehicle, please use designated parking spaces only and avoid parking on the pavement or footpaths. Vehicles parked on pavements can force parents with pushchairs, young children, wheelchair users, and pedestrians into the road, creating unnecessary safety risks.

By parking considerately, youโ€™re helping to:

* โœ… Keep pathways clear and accessible.
* โœ… Protect the safety of children walking to and from school and play areas.
* โœ… Support neighbours with pushchairs, mobility aids, and wheelchairs.
* โœ… Show the respect and consideration that makes our military community strong.

If designated parking is full, please take a little extra time to find a suitable legal parking space rather than blocking pedestrian routes.

Letโ€™s continue to look out for one another and set the standard for considerate parking. Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe. ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡งโšฝ Good luck to the Three Lions tonight! โšฝ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Wishing England the very best of luck as they take on Mexico tonight. Letโ€™s hope for a great performance and a place in the next round! Come on England! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ

If youโ€™re heading out to watch the match with friends or family, please celebrate responsibly. If youโ€™re planning on having a drink, donโ€™t drink and drive. Arrange a lift, book a taxi, use public transport, or have a designated driver.

Letโ€™s make it a night to remember for the football, not for the wrong reasons. Stay safe, look after one another, and get home safely.

Come on England! ๐Ÿ†โšฝ
