🚌🚲 Take the bike bus from Bavaria straight into the Bohemian Forest!

The cross-border summer bike bus line 488 connects Philippsreut with Vimperk until 11 October 2026. Along the way, it stops in Strážný, Lenora, Horní Vltavice and Kubova Huť – perfect starting points for hiking and cycling trips through the beautiful Bohemian Forest. 🌲🥾🚴

🚲 You can take your bike on board, making it easy to combine a bus journey with a cycling trip. And if you haven’t visited Vimperk yet, the town and its beautiful castle are definitely worth discovering! 🏰

💡 Especially convenient: In Philippsreut, there are coordinated connections to bus line 605 to/from Freyung and line 606 to/from Waldkirchen. This makes it easy to travel from other parts of the Bavarian Forest to South Bohemia without a car. 🚌🇩🇪🇨🇿

Line 488 operates at weekends and on Czech public holidays. A journey from Philippsreut to Vimperk costs just CZK 61 (approx. €2.50). 🌿 A convenient and sustainable way to discover South Bohemia!

Cross-border travel just got even easier! 🚌🇦🇹🇨🇿

Starting Saturday, 4 July, there's a great new way to travel comfortably and sustainably between Austria and the Czech Republic. The new Bus Line 485 connects Bad Leonfelden with Český Krumlov, stopping along the way in Frymburk, Lipno nad Vltavou, and Vyšší Brod. The service operates three times a day on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays until 11 October. In Bad Leonfelden, passengers can conveniently connect to Bus Line 270 to and from Linz.

Whether you're planning a trip to the beautiful town of Český Krumlov, a relaxing day at Lake Lipno, or simply want to enjoy hassle-free travel without a car, this new bus service is well worth using! 🌿🚌

Tickets can be purchased directly on the bus (cash payment in CZK or card payment accepted). Plus you can easily plan your trip using the timetable available at https://www.idos.cz/en ☀️
