We are totally excited to announce our ‘Socially Responsible Travel to Africa’, an 11-day trip to the beautiful and peaceful country GHANA.

This trip offers you an opportunity to see beautiful beaches, castles and forts, botanical gardens, eco tourism and wildlife, waterfalls and mountains, among many other exciting activities curated to help you nourish your soul.

We are happy to share with you memories created from Lenka’s important visit to Humanitas Afrika office in Obom - Ghana.

Lenka is our member here in Prague, has been in Ghana for about 2 weeks. On Monday July 13, she visited not only our office but also the dressmaking workshop. She met Cudjo and Amina who are the tutors and managers of the fashion department. 13 of the dressmaking apprentices were also excited to meet Lenka, who spent hours having progressive discussions with them.

Lenka also got a tour of the office space, led by our Country Coordinator Kofi Hayford with support from our assistant coordinator Mike.

This morning, H.E. Nick Ojo Omorodion, Deputy Ambassador of Czech Republic to Ghana, welcomed a longstanding member of our organization, Ms. Lenka Marxova, together with our Ghana coordinator Mr. Kofi Hayford to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Accra - Ghana.

Ms. Marxova, who is also a student at Charles University in Prague, is on a visit to Ghana for the purposes of her research work in Media and Communications.

The courtesy call to the embassy forms part of Humanitas Afrika’s tradition over the years, of introducing our Czech volunteers and friends who visit Ghana to strengthen the relationship between our organization and the Czech Embassy in Ghana.

Tonight, we invite you to a lecture by NYU Professor Afrodesia McCannon (Liberal Studies Department), who researches African medievalisms and the representations of "the medieval" in contemporary culture (especially graphic novels).

She will be joined by NYU Prague director Peter Zusi to discuss the idea of marginalized medievalisms. She will talk about her research on once-mighty medieval kingdoms in Africa, now largely ignored by the West. How can we look at this from the Czech context, where the once-mighty medieval Kingdom of Bohemia is now barely registered by most Western observers?
