1SG Cruz has been filling the role of 1SG for over a year as a SFC. Recently, he was promoted to MSG with a continued lateral promotion to 1SG, in well deserved recognition of his dedication, leadership, and continued support of Able Battery. Congratulations!

5 May 2023 we bid farewell to CPT Krupp, Kasey, James and Josh as they move on to 52nd BDE. We welcomed CPT Archer and his wife Rachel to the Able family.

We also presented SGT Crump his ETS award for his exemplarily service to the United States and most importantly the Soldiers of Able Battery. You will all be missed.

Short-range missile defense became an afterthought with the end of the Soviet Union and the rise of counterinsurgency warfare elsewhere. Now, however, the soldiers of the 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment training at Grafenwoehr find their mission back in the spotlight.

Able Battery completed their second day of cold weather training during Joint Viking 23. The focus was how to build a fire in harsh winter conditions. The class was taught by SSG Calderon, SGT Allen, and SGT Barger, graduates of the NATO Winter Instructor Course.
