On Wednesday over 60 ExchangeAlumni tuned in to the inaugural German Fulbright Alumni Association Brown Bag Lunch to listen to Hanna Shvindina of the American University Kyiv, and Ian Campbell, Minister Counselor for Political Affairs at the U.S. Embassy Berlin discuss the impact of Russia’s brutal and unprovoked war of aggression on Ukrainians. Fulbright Germany and the alumni community have continually provided support to Ukrainians through donations of medical, food, and household items, and through building professional bridges, a testament to the power of transatlantic exchanges to build international friendships.

“Queer rights are human rights!” Ambassador Gutmann and Independent Federal Commissioner for Anti-Discrimination and International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumna Ferda Ataman emphasized at yesterday’s Pride event at the U.S. Embassy Berlin, celebrating with the LGBTQI+ community and allies, incl. ExchangeAlumni.

The Transatlantic Alumni Conference 2023 - Reimagining Transatlantic Bridges for a Brighter Future - what a tremendous success!

The video remarks by U.S. Ambassador to Germany Amy Gutmann set the tone for three days of interdisciplinary discussions on career building, tech & digitization, sustainability and DEIA. As a final highlight Ambassador Gutmann met with some of the ExchangeAlumni at the U.S. Embassy Berlin.

Alumni networks were expanded and new connections were forged thanks to German German Fulbright Alumni Association, PPP Alumni e. V., APPPs, Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Alumni Association, DAAD Alumni Association USA, and many more!
