Today's spotlight is on the stunning Braunfels Castle. Perched high above the small town of Braunfels, this castle looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. With its towers, stone walls, hidden courtyard, and dramatic hilltop location, it is one of the most impressive castles in the FRM region. The history dates back to the 13th century, when it was originally built as a fortress to protect the region and important trade routes nearby. Over the centuries the castle was expanded and transformed into a residence that combined mediaeval strength with romantic architecture. So definitely worth a visit!
