Kennst du eine Telefonnr auswendig?“

Während ihres 1-Wöchigen Arbeitsaufenthaltes hat das stonekollektiv performative Ansätze erprobt die Library zu erkunden. Daraus sind „Handlungsanweisungen“ entstanden denen die Besucher*innen der Library folgen können. Durch persönliche Erinnerungen werden individuelle Zugänge zum Bestand provoziert. Dabei spielt der Zufall eine genauso wichtige Rolle wie subjektive Entscheidungen.

Die Telefonnr wird zum persönlichen Zugangscode.

„Jetzt schließe deine Augen, blättere durch das Heft und stoppe intuitiv an einer Stelle“

Die Arbeit des stonekollektivs hinterfragt die verschiedenen Zugänge zur Impossible Library. Eine Handlungsanweisung richtet sich z.B. direkt an Menschen die keine Treppen steigen und insofern die Publikationen auf der zweiten Ebene nicht erreichen können.
Durch die Arbeit wurden Spuren hinterlassen die von den Besucher*innen aufgenommen werden können.
Das stonekollektiv entmystifiziert und schafft gleichzeitig neue Geheimnisse.

und komm wieder, wenn dir nach einer neuen, unerwarteten Begegnung ist.“

During their 1-week residency, the stonekollektiv explored performative approaches to the Library. This resulted in "instructions for action" that visitors to the library can follow. Through personal memories, individual approaches to the collection are provoked. Chance plays just as important a role as subjective decisions.

The telephone number becomes a personal access code.

"Now close your eyes, flip through the booklet and intuitively stop at one point".

Danke stonekollektiv für die Einblicke dir ihr uns in eure Arbeit mit dem Bestand der Impossible Library gegeben habt.
Das stonekollektiv hat die Library auf ihre Zugänge hin überprüft und dabei neue Wege gefunden Magazine in der Sammlung zu finden und besondere Verbindungen zu schaffen. Als Handlungsanweisungen bleiben diese in der Library und können von Besucher*innen selbst erprobt werden.

Thank you stonekollektiv for the insights you gave us into your work with the Impossible Library collection.
The stonekollektiv has examined the library in terms of access and found new ways to find magazines in the collection and to create special connections. As instructions for action, these remain in the Library and can be tried out by visitors themselves.

Diese Woche haben wir das stonekollektiv zu Gast in der Impossible Library.
Julia Nitschke und Caroline Kapp übernehmen den Instagramkanal und geben Einblicke in ihre Forschung. Sie nähern sich dem Bestand perfomativ-labernd und ermöglichen so einen für uns neuen Zugang das ruhende Wissen der Bibliothek zu beleben.

This week we welcome the stonekollektiv as guests at the Impossible Library.
Julia Nitschke and Caroline Kapp take over the Instagram channel and give insights into their research. They approach the inventory in a performative-babbling way and thus enable a new approach for us to revive the resting knowledge of the library.

"Das gesammelte Wissen braucht einen Körper um wiederbelebt, erinnert zu werden."

Das stonekollektiv, das sind Caroline Kapp und Julia Nitschke, wird vom 20.-23. April in der Impossible Library arbeiten und durch Performance das ruhende Wissen des Librarybestands in Bewegung bringen.

Mit ihrer spezifischen Laberperformancetechnik und einer Prise Fluxus offenbart das stonekollektiv Inhalte aus dem Bestand. Alles was ihnen in die Hände kommt, wird in ihre messy Wissensproduktion einfließen.

Das gesammelte Wissen braucht einen Körper, um wiederbelebt, erinnert zu werden. Warum nicht von zwei Feminist*innen? Und entgegen ihrer sozialisierten Rolle, die der Frau, will das stonekollektiv wirklich nicht aufräumen, sondern sich lieber vom Archiv leiten lassen und Kontrolle abgeben.

Dabei entstehen ihre Labersessions.

Die Regisseurin Caroline Kapp (München) und die Performancekünstlerin Julia Nitschke (Bochum) arbeiten seit drei Jahren als stonekollektiv an sozial engagierten partizipatorischen Performances. Ihren Schwerpunkt bilden neue Erinnerungsrituale und diese durch ihre Performancereihe „Labern übers eigene Land“ mit dem Publikum zu proben.

„I focused on the images that were featured in these publications and while I was making my selection of images, I realized that this narration was forming in my head already. That narration was actually more a reflection of the past couple of months, regarding Black Lives Matter and how that relates to me as an artist from Afro-Belgian descent and also in the industry.“
