HAND IN HAND AGAINST RACISM AND THE SHIFT TO THE RIGHT
Over 80,000 people in Hamburg alone protested against the racist plans of the fascist AfD and its supporters. This gives us courage!
But the frightening social shift to the right that we are currently experiencing has not been stopped and has gone far beyond the AfD. The racist demands and narratives of the right are increasingly being adopted by other parties. Leading politicians from the SPD, FDP and Green Party are joining in a racist and fascist discourse. They present migrants as a threat, and see stricter controls and more deportations as the only solution. The CDU wants to completely abolish the right to asylum in Germany according to its new program. At EU level, the German government is voting in favor of dismantling the individual right to asylum, mass detentions at external borders and deportations to war and crisis zones. At national level, the Bundestag has just passed the "Repatriation Improvement Act", which enables more brutal deportations and the criminalization of sea rescue of minors.
This racist policy scares us. More and more migrants and people with a migration background are affected by this racism and are wondering how long they can stay in Germany in face of these policies. People already make emergency plans to leave Germany. The AfD pops the corks when SPD Interior Minister Nancy Faeser imposes their racist plans at national and European level.
To believe that this would weaken the AfD is a fatal mistake. In contrary: This will only further drive forward the shift to the right. The SPD New Year's reception is therefore no reason for us to celebrate. We demand: Those who stand for humanity can not simultaneously implement the dehumanizing policies of the right!
At the same time, those politics show us that we cannot rely on the governing parties. We must be the firewall against the right ourselves!
Blaming immigration for societal problems and social hardship instead of tackling the real causes will continue to drive the shift to the right. To stop the shift to the right, we need solidarity without borders and politics of social and ecological justice!

HAND IN HAND GEGEN RASSISMUS UND RECHTSRUCK
Allein in Hamburg waren wir mit über 80.000 Menschen gemeinsam auf der Straße gegen die menschenverachtenden Pläne der AfD und ihre Unterstützer*innen. Das macht uns Mut!
Doch der beängstigende gesellschaftliche Rechtsruck, den wir gerade erleben, ist damit nicht aufgehalten und geht längst weit über die AfD hinaus. Denn die rassistischen Forderungen und Erzählungen der Rechten werden immer weitreichender auch von anderen Parteien übernommen. Spitzenpolitiker*innen von SPD, FDP und Grünen stimmen in einen menschenfeindlichen Diskurs mit ein, der Migrant*innen als Gefahr und schärfere Kontrollen und mehr Abschiebungen als einzige Lösung darstellt. Die CDU will laut ihrem neuen Grundsatzprogramm das Recht auf Asyl in Deutschland ganz abschaffen. Auf EU-Ebene stimmt die Bundesregierung für die Demontage des individuellen Rechts auf Asyl, Masseninhaftierungen an den Außengrenzen und Abschiebungen in Kriegs- und Krisengebiete. Auf nationaler Ebene hat der Bundestag gerade erst mit dem „Rückführungsverbesserungsgesetz“ ein Gesetz beschlossen, das für mehr und brutalere Abschiebungen und die Kriminalisierung der Seenotrettung von Minderjährigen sorgt.
Diese rassistische Politik macht uns Angst. Immer mehr migrantisierte und von Rassismus betroffene Menschen fragen sich, wie lange sie angesichts dieser Politik hier noch bleiben können, machen Notfallpläne. Die AfD kann währenddessen die Korken knallen lassen, wenn die SPD-Innenministerin Nancy Faeser deren rassistische Pläne auf nationaler und europäischer Ebene durchsetzt. Zu glauben, die AfD werde dadurch geschwächt, ist ein fataler Irrtum. Im Gegenteil: Diese Politik treibt den Rechtsruck weiter voran. Der Neujahrsempfang der SPD ist für uns deshalb kein Grund zu feiern. Wir fordern: Wer sich Humanismus auf die Fahnen schreibt, darf nicht gleichzeitig die entmenschlichende Politik der Rechten umsetzen!
Gleichzeitig zeigt uns diese Politik: Wir können uns auf die Regierungsparteien nicht verlassen. Wir müssen selbst die Brandmauer gegen Rechts sein!
Wer die Schuld für die Krisen und sozialen Notlagen auf Einwanderung schiebt, statt deren wahre Ursachen anzugehen, wird den Rechtsruck weiter vorantreiben. Um ihn aufzuhalten, braucht es stattdessen grenzenlose Solidarität und eine Politik der sozialen und ökologischen Gerechtigkeit!
