Allgemeine Information
OBJECTIVES KoMSO unites the triad of mathematical modeling, simulation and optimization as new field of technology in research and development to reinforce the innovational strength of Germany as a location of technology. Previously undiscovered or only partially utilized potentials of MSO are to be detected and made visible. KoMSO is dedicated to gradually implement the objectives of the Strategy Day for Mathematics 2020: • Promoting MSO – “mathematical modeling, simulation and optimization” – as a key enabling technology • Strengthening public awareness of state-of-the-art research in MSO • Intensifying cooperation of university and industry • Accelerating implementation of mathematical and computational innovations COOPERATION KoMSO sustains cooperative ties with both research groups and scientific institutions nationally and internationally, and seeks to enhance exchange between academia and industry while, simultaneously, strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation within the sciences in order to improve existing relations as well as to launch new initiatives. At an international level, KoMSO serves as the German network node in the European Service Network of Mathematics for Industry and Innovation (EU-MATHS-IN), which consists of various national or multinational industrial mathematics networks.
