HISTORY AND POSTING GUIDELINES

HISTORY:

The 1st Ba

ttalion, 4th Infantry Regiment has served in the defense of the United States for over two hundred years. The Battalion traces its lineage to the original Fourth United States Infantry, which was organized as the Infantry of the Fourth Sub Legion on Sept. 4th 1792, only four years after the adoption of the Federal Constitution. On November 16, 1990, 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry was assigned as the Opposing Force (OPFOR) at the Combat Maneuver Training Center (CMTC), Hohenfels, Germany. The battalion consists of three rifle companies, a tank company, and a headquarters and head quarters company. In order to support the USAERUR commander’s training strategy the battalion portrays a Brigade Tactical Group and/or an insurgency that challenges all the battlefield operating systems (BOS) of rotational units in force on force situations. Back with another Warrior of the Week! Hailing from Beaufort, South Carolina, PFC Caldwell enlisted in the United States Army as an infantryman. He graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) in 2024 and was assigned to Warrior Battalion, where he was selected by leadership to serve as a Scout Observer in Cherokee Company’s Scout Platoon. In his first three months at Warrior Battalion, PFC Caldwell volunteered for the USAEUR-AF Best Squad competition, where his squad achieved an impressive 2nd place finish. He also earned his Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB) and distinguished himself as the top soldier at the JMRC Pre-Ranger competition. During the Pre-Ranger competition, PFC Caldwell set the standard across JMRC, excelling with his endurance, land navigation skills, and leadership abilities. He consistently thrives under pressure, demonstrating remarkable resilience and capability. For these outstanding achievements, PFC Caldwell has been named this week’s Warrior of the Week.

Warrior family and friends, come join us on Wednesday the 26th on Warrior Field for a Thanksgiving football tournament and chili cook-off! We’re gonna start the games at 0800 and end around 1300 with an Officer vs NCO showdown. Chili cook-off judging starts at 1130. If you’d like to enter just tell your sfrg - the more the merrier. Come at any time to support the Warriors - see you on the field!
