From hands-on training to in-depth theoretical sessions, our participants acquired essential skills and knowledge in bridge reconnaissance and assessment. The dedication and teamwork displayed during the Bridge Assessment Course at the Military Engineering Centre of Excellence were truly inspiring.

Last week we held a farewell ceremony to celebrate 4 of our esteemed colleagues who are leaving the COE.

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Demel 🇨🇿 will return to Czechia to continue his national duties, master sergeant (MSG) Meining 🇩🇪 will take up a position at the German Air Force officer school. Interesting fact: MSG Meining served at the MILENG COE for almost 10 years, making him very experienced and a valuable Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Captain (CPT) Wimmer 🇩🇪 and Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Gavin 🇺🇸changed their military uniforms for civilian ones.

We wish all of our former colleagues the best of luck in the next steps of their careers! In addition, we wish LTC (Ret) Gavin and his family a safe trip back home and wish to thank Mrs. Gavin and children for their support and the sacrifices they made as a family.

Thank you for being part of the MILENG COE family and for all your hard work!

Last week, our staff visited the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) - the German Aerospace Centre's campus Oberpfaffenhofen for professional and personal staff development.

It turned out to be a very interesting day, learning about projects managed at the DLR; ground penetrating RADAR drones, other RADAR and LIDAR applications, the use of drones and satellites for imaging, testing capacities and much more!

The MILENG function and the DLR have a lot in common and do benefit from being in close contact with each other

Recently, Col. Renato SCUDICIO visited the MILENG COE to sign a technical agreement that will allow the Centre of Excellence to deliver an MTT (Mobile Training Team) to Italy from 5 - 10 May 2024.

The MTT will deliver a Bridge Assessment Course (BAC) to Italian military engineering students, with the addition of a few international students.

Our Training and Education (T&E) branch delivers multiple courses per year, supporting NATO and its partners, and contributing this way to strengthening the bonds between the nations.
