DGVN-Landesgruppe Niedersachsen UNA-Germany is a non-partisan and independent organisation and does not represent the specific interests of any single grouping in society.

In this context, the DGVN Lower Saxony regional group organises events, discussions and information on United Nations topics in Lower Saxony under the format of the Langenhagen UN Talks. The United Nations Association of Germany - UNA-Germany (Deutsche Gesellschaft für die Vereinten Nationen - DGVN) was founded in 1952 as a non-governmental organisation and became a full member of the World Federa

tion of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) in 1966. It works as a non-profit organisation. Its directorate is elected every two years. In addition to the new regional group in Lower Saxony, there is also a regional group in Hamburg, as well as six regional organisations in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin-Brandenburg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony/Saxony-Anhalt/Thuringia.

International summit at the Constitution Club, New Delhi: Focus on skills development in India and promoting entrepreneurship

New Delhi, India – A high-level international meeting with Mr Pradeep Gandhi, a former member of the Indian Parliament, took place at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi. The aim of the meeting was to advance India's efforts to develop skills and strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems through global cooperation.

Organisation and leadership

The event was made possible through the collaboration of leading figures:

The meeting was moderated by Ambassador Dr. h.c. Paolo Bragana, representing the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and the All India Skills Development Council (AISDC).

- Amb. Dr. h.c. Bragana is also Chairman of BC&BCS, an organisation with consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

- The international delegation was accompanied by Mr Ilhan Buga, Vice-President (Germany) of BC&BCS, as well as other representatives of the United Nations and international institutions.

- The event was chaired by Dr Rajesh Tejania (Global President of the UNHRC and AISDC) in collaboration with Dr Umesh Gautam (National Director of the AISDC).

Central theme: ‘Skill Up India’

The meeting focused on the Skill Up India initiative and the promotion of entrepreneurship. Discussions centred on future-oriented sectors with high growth potential:

-- Digital marketing

-- Artificial intelligence (AI)

Strategic objectives

The guests of honour emphasised the need for international cooperation and practical training. The aim is to improve the employability of young people and position India as a global centre for innovation and cutting-edge skills. These efforts are in line with international human rights and sustainable development goals.

Visit by a German UN delegation to India

‘India has always been on the side of peace’ – Jagdish Tapish (Patron of the Blue Cross) Seoni, Madhya Swarnim: The Blue Cross and Blue Crescent Movement is an internationally recognised organisation that has been granted ‘special consultative status’ by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Recently, high-ranking representatives of the International Federation of Blue Cross and Blue Crescent Societies (IFBC) travelled to India under the leadership of the organisation: Ambassador Paolo Bragagna, IFBC Ambassador and Representative of the World Committee for Europe, Representative of the Blue Cross and Blue Crescent to the United Nations in Geneva, Vienna and New York, and Representative for Europe and the Middle East, Ilhan Buğa. Guests included the founding director of the Blue Cross, Mithilesh Karn, international director Sharda Karn, managing director Meer Abid Ali, IFBC ambassador Ravari Balraju, executive director Zeeshan Khan and deputy executive director Dr Rajesh Tejania. They were welcomed by Rajesh Tejania with a traditional ceremony.

Meeting and resolutions
At the meeting with German UN representatives in India, several resolutions were passed reaffirming the commitment to cooperation in the areas of peace, harmony, protection of human rights, national social development and international coordination. Jagdish Tapish, patron of the Blue Cross and Blue Crescent, was unable to attend the meeting with the delegation in person for health reasons. However, Paolo Bragagna held important discussions via teleconference and conveyed his best wishes for Tapish's recovery. Message of peace

In his welcome message to India, Tapish said:
"I warmly welcome the delegation of the Blue Cross and Blue Crescent Movement to India. I hope that we will continue to work together for the development of the world and the support of victims. India has always been committed to peace. Under the leadership of our esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the tireless efforts to create peace throughout the world are exemplary."
