Concurrent Receipt... receiving your full military retirement pay and VA disability payment (if disability rating is determined).

Currently VA disability of 50% or higher receives Concurrent Receipt. 40% and below has the amount of VA disability deducted from military retirement pay.

The Maj Richard Star Act will extend Concurrent Receipt to all VA disability ratings.

You can support efforts to move this legislation forward...takes about 2 minutes.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE |

Today, AFSA as part of the STAR Act Working Group, took part in meetings with congressional staff about how we can waive the CUTGO rule that is preventing the Major Richard Star Act from being included in the NDAA.

❕Assignment Incentive Pay - Cold Weather❕- What you need to know:

The Department of the Air Force recently approved Cold Weather Assignment Incentive Pay for Airmen and Guardians PCS-ing to qualified bases in the U.S. where the temperature is expected to drop below -20 degrees Fahrenheit.

Locations that meet this threshold include:
⏺️ Minot AFB
⏺️ Grand Forks AFB
⏺️ Cavalier Space Force Station
⏺️ Clear Space Force Station
⏺️ Eielson AFB
⏺️ Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson
⏺️ Malmstrom AFB

This lump-sum payment, effective 1 April, is designed to ensure the readiness, health and safety of our service members and their families.

36-2683 updated to remove rank requirement for leadership certifications 👨‍🎓

SUMMARY OF CHANGES
This document has been revised to reflect policy changes regarding supervisor responsibilities, eligibility criteria for Service members, and funding limitations. In particular, the rank restriction for Service members to pursue a leadership/management credential has been removed, and the requirement for Service members within 180 days of separation or retirement to self-pay for credentials and be reimbursed has also been eliminated.
