The USO Transition Program offers free professional development programs to support active duty service members and their spouses. Here is a link to some of their upcoming events. Specifically there is a MilSpouse "Fill the Gaps" workshop (Virtual) on the 26th which may benefit many of our temporarily unemployed spouses currently stationed in the Rheinland Pfalz area.

The USO Transition program extends the USO experience to active duty, Reserve, National Guard and military spouses as they transition from the military and settle into their new, civilian communities.

Sharing a message from the Garrison Commander, COL Higgins, regarding helping to protect families from a PCS/TLA scam in the local area:

"Advising you of a SCAM company that is preying on our Soldiers. An organization called “Source One,” operated by a Joshua McNair or Jochi McNair or Jochi Legado, is intercepting our SMs and their families before arrival to Germany and in some cases on the way out, offering services that exceed TLA limits as well as a host of others that violate our policies and place these families at extreme financial and legal risk. In some cases, SMs are being charged in excess of $12,000 or more for services they are not authorized or could find at a much more reasonable cost.

Because of this and a host of other concerns, I have barred Mr. McNair from all military installations in the USAREUR-AF footprint and he is under investigation by CID and HN. This will not stop him from reaching out to or engaging SMs through his page, etc.

Having said all this, good sponsorship is always the best way to prevent this and keep our SMs informed. I am sharing this so that you can warn your organizations to stay away from Source One, Jochi McNair on Facebook, or any other organization that offers a “good deal” to newly arriving families."
