Safe Driving Reminder🚦
Keep these five things in mind:
1. Avoid Careless Driving -- Expect the unexpected; remain alert for hazards. Look twice for motorcycles, check blind spots, and use turn signals. Maintain at least a 3-second following distance (increase in adverse conditions). Ensure you are well-rested before road trips and take frequent breaks.
2. Avoid Impaired Driving -- In Germany, the legal BAC limit is 0.05% for those 21 and older, and 0.00% for those under 21. Plan for a safe ride home before the event begins. If you know someone has been drinking, do not let them get behind the wheel.
3. Wear Seatbelts -- Buckle up; seatbelts are the most effective way to prevent injury, death, and ejection during a crash. Ensure every passenger is properly buckled before putting the vehicle into drive.
4. Avoid Distracted Driving -- Put phones away and focus on the road. Avoid multitasking (eating, reaching for items, etc.). Texting, calls, and social media are never worth the risk.
5. Avoid Speeding -- Adhere to all posted speed limits and road signs. Reduce speed in adverse conditions such as rain, snow, or limited visibility. Plan and allow for sufficient travel time to avoid rushing.
