When the team from Billund Idrætscenter take over the running of Cafe Bonita, they are planning to keep the Little Free Library books :) Thank you so much to Michael from the Idrætscenter team for continuing to support this.

So you can continue to 'bring a book, borrow a book' when the cafe re-opens on 4th January 2021. Don't forget to have a look when you are ordering coffee.

Since we started this little project, it's been lovely to see how it's being used and we have many international books on the shelves now. We are grateful to Tina and the team at Cafe Bonita for supporting us for the last couple of years and we wish all the staff the very best as they move on to new ventures.

All the best to you and yours this holiday season too. Keep safe, read a good book and here's hoping for better things to come in the New Year x

Hi to all who have recently relocated to Billund and surroundings.
Just to let you know that there is a Little Free Library at the back of Cafe Bonita (the cafe near the Billund Library)
It works on the principal of take a book, leave a book.
If you happen to have any books your family doesn't read anymore, you are welcome to put them on the shelves yourself for others to enjoy, or to contact myself, Ellie Carver, or Amanda John, if you would like to donate books.
Currently, we have the Little Free Library in Cafe Bonita and one more in the Lindevej apartments.
If all works as planned and we acquire enough donations, we can always see who else would be willing to host a Little Free Library.
Maybe the new coffee shop near Lalandia?
Please, let us know if anyone else would like to get involved in this little love project. You are most welcome to.

Like books? Last week a few local book-lovers launched a "Little Free Library" inside Cafe Bonita. We've left a few books there in English, and encourage you to sit for a cup of coffee with a friend, look at the books, and you can take a book home, for free. If you have a book or two that you aren't reading anymore, in any language, and you think someone else might like it, you can leave it on one of the shelves. We are officially registered as library #32,128 of Little Free Library, a network of free book exchanges in all 50 U.S. states and 70 countries in the world. We hope you'll visit our hygge little spot at Cafe Bonita soon and tell us what you think.

Book exchange

We are a small group of book lovers who want to have the opportunity to share books and magazines within our local community. Cafe Bonita kindly offered to host our little community book share and we operate a ‘bring a book, take a book scheme’ on the shelves at the back of the cafe. The scheme is part of a global network of Free Little Libraries, but only works when we contribute by bringing and borrowing books. Amanda and Ellie occasionally update the stocks when we receive a big donation of books, but the rest is up to you - share that book that you loved but no longer need cluttering up your shelves. Someone else will enjoy it and bring another book in return. We love it when new books turn up on the shelves and we see that people are making good use of this local resource.

We are always looking for new places to host other free little libraries. We are really interested to hear if you know of a little place that could benefit from a fresh shelf of books. If you have any ideas for cool and funky ‘book nooks’ we would love to hear from you too.

You can also message us here if you have books that you would like to donate. We place as many as we can on the shelves we have and then pass on any extras to local charities.

Thanks for stopping by and supporting our little book exchange.
