A growing Ebola outbreak is threatening communities already affected by conflict and displacement in eastern DR Congo.

via UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency

A growing Ebola outbreak is threatening communities already affected by conflict and displacement in eastern DR Congo.

More than 2 million displaced people live in areas at high risk of transmission, while refugee reception centres in neighbouring Uganda are operating far beyond capacity.

Without adequate support for preparedness, community engagement, clean water, sanitation and infection prevention measures, the risk of further spread will only increase.

Urgent support is needed to strengthen preparedness, scale up prevention efforts and protect displaced families and host communities from the growing threat of Ebola.
