New skylights at the library – what does this mean for you?
This summer, the library at Solbjerg will get new skylights. This will provide better daylight and a watertight roof, but it will affect your access to the library’s book collections and study facilities.
👀At a glance
• Period: 22 June – 24 July
• Noise throughout the entire period
• Limited access to study seats and book collections
📅Key dates
• 22 June: The library is closed, except for the computer room, the Data Lab and the silent reading room on the second floor
• 23–26 June: Scaffolding installation – noise, night entrance closed, no access to book collections
• 29 June – 19 July: Second floor closed, except for the silent reading room and group rooms, no access to book collections
• 20–23 July: Scaffolding removal – noise, night entrance closed, no access to book collections
• 24 July: The library is closed, except for the computer room, the Data Lab and the silent reading room on the second floor
How your access will be affected
• Second floor: Several areas are cordoned off – you can only book study spaces in the silent reading room and group rooms.
• First floor and ground floor: Several areas are cordoned off – booking of study spaces is not possible, but some study spaces can be used. The Data Lab and computer room are open.
• Basement: Closed for the entire period
• Night entrance: Closed from 22–26 June and 20–24 July
• Books: You cannot find books on the shelves yourself, but employees will help retrieve requested items. If you need a book for an exam, please place your order well in advance.
🧑🎓Other study facilities on campus
If you need a quiet place to study, you can use the study spaces at Dalgas Have 15, 2nd floor, as well as at H.V. Nyholms Vej 21, 2nd and 3rd floors.
We know this is inconvenient and we apologize, but we look forward to welcoming you to a library with more daylight once the work is completed.
