Productive discussions with senior Algerian counterparts - Minister of Energy, Mr Arkab in presence of Sonatrach CEO, Mr Noureddine Daoudi and representatives of Clarke Energy on the margins of NAPEC 2026.

Discussions focused on strengthening the UK-Algeria energy partnership, including opportunities for cooperation in hydrocarbons, emissions reduction, innovation and energy security.

The UK Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST) recently organised a delegation to Algeria bringing together the Global Entrepreneur Programme (GEP) and the UK-Africa Sandbox, with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship and international growth.

Hosted by the British Embassy in Algiers in partnership with Algeria Venture, the programme brought together founders, investors, policymakers and ecosystem leaders from the UK and Algeria, in the presence of H.E. Noureddine Ouaddah, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, and H.E. James Downer, His Majesty’s Ambassador to Algeria.

The visit explored opportunities for Algerian start-ups to access global networks, investment and international markets through the UK, while strengthening UK-Algeria cooperation on innovation and entrepreneurship and supporting innovation-led growth in both countries.
