في الأول من شهر أوت، تُحيي بولندا ذكرى انتفاضة وارسو عام 1944، حين أطلق جيش الوطن البولندي وسكان وارسو نضالًا استمر 63 يومًا ضد الاحتلال الألماني النازي خلال الحرب العالمية الثانية.
ورغم أن الانتفاضة انتهت بعدم تحقيق أهدافها، وتعرضت المدينة لدمارٍ هائل، فقد أصبح ما أبداه المشاركون فيها من شجاعة وإصرار وتضحية رمزًا خالدًا لتمسّك بولندا بقيم الحرية والكرامة الإنسانية.
وإذ نُكرّم اليوم ذكرى المشاركين في الانتفاضة وكل من فقدوا حياتهم خلالها، فإننا نستحضر أيضًا أن السعي إلى الاستقلال والحرية شكّل جزءًا أساسيًا من تاريخ العديد من الشعوب، بما في ذلك بولندا 🇵🇱 والجزائر 🇩🇿.

On 1 August, Poland commemorates the anniversary of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, when the Polish Home Army and the people of Warsaw launched a 63-day struggle against N**i German occupation during the Second World War.
Although the Uprising ended in defeat and the city suffered immense destruction, the courage, determination and sacrifice of those who fought have become a lasting symbol of Poland’s commitment to freedom and human dignity.
As we honour the memory of the participants and all those who lost their lives, we also remember that the pursuit of independence and freedom has shaped the histories of many nations, including Poland 🇵🇱 and Algeria 🇩🇿
