The National Park Of Cedars Of Theniet El Had Is Situated About 185 Km South West Of The Capital Algiers,And 150 Km From The Mediterranean Coast.It Has A Total Areas Of 3425ha.Ras El Braret Is The Highest Point In The Park.It Is 1787 Meters Hight,It Is An Impressive Pictuersque Site From Wich You Can Contemplate A Series Of Wonderful Sceneries That Can Take Your Soul High Above The Centennial Ceda
r.For The Diversity Of The Site's Fauna And Flora,And The Marvellous Beauty Of its Landscapes,It Was The First Space To Be Protected In Algeria On August03rd,1923 By The French Colonial Government,And It Was Eventually Re-Created As The National Park Of Cedars Of Theniet El Had After The IndepenDence By A Presidential Decree On July23th,1983,It Extends Along The Spine And Slopes Of The Mountain And Includes A Number Of Ponds,Small Streams And Springs At The Mountain Foothills.It Has Mediterranean Humid And Sub-Humid Bioclimate.The Average Annual Rainfall Ranges From 600 To 800 mm The Cedar Forest Of This Park Is Unique In The West Of 1600m.The Flora Comprises 450 Species,Many Of Them Are Algerian Endemic.The Mountain Of The Park Is MostlyCovered In Woddland Vegetation:1000ha Of The Atlas Cedar(Cedrus Atlantica),1000ha Of The Holm Oak(Quercus Ilex),504 ha Of The Zeen Oak(Quercus Faginea),460ha Of The Cork Oak (Quercus Suber) And 460ha For Others,As For The Fauna,289 Species Have Been Recorded So far Within The National Park And Many Of Them are Protected Like The Striped Hyena,The Caracal Lynx,The Genet,The Wildcat,The Weasel,The Porcupine And Others.The Avifauna Is Marked By The Presence Of The Golden Eagle,The Falcon,The Vulture,The Buzzzard,The Lawny Owl,The bee-Eater,The European Greenfinch,The Green Woodpecker,The European Roller And The Nightjar.Words Of Sir Abdelhamid Bouziane Special Thanks To Him.
