We are a volunteer-run lending library open to the public and located inside the Savoy Inn.

Dear visitors of The English Lending Library,

Some of you have used the parking service provided by Hotel Savoy Inn, where our library is located.

Starting in October, the first hour of parking will remain free of charge. After the first hour, parking will cost $1 per hour or fraction thereof.

If you are coming to participate in a library activity, please keep this in mind when planning your visit.

Thank you for helping us take care of and appreciate the space that the hotel generously provides for our library!

Algunos de ustedes han utilizado el servicio de parqueadero que ofrece el Hotel Savoy Inn, donde se encuentra la biblioteca.

Desde octubre, luego de la primera hora, el parqueadero tendrá un costo de $1 por cada hora o fracción, luego de la primera _(gratuita)._

Si vienes a participar en una actividad de la biblioteca, por favor tómalo en cuenta.

A knight, a faithful companion, a few windmills… and one of the greatest adventures in literature.

Today we celebrate Miguel de Cervantes (1547–1616), the Spanish writer whose Don Quixote became one of the most influential works in world literature.

Published in two parts, in 1605 and 1615, Don Quixote follows an idealistic would-be knight and his loyal squire, Sancho Panza, as they set out in search of adventure—and sometimes mistake the world for something rather more extraordinary than it really is.

Poetry, modernism… and cats. 🐈

Today we celebrate T. S. Eliot (1888–1965), one of the most influential poets of the 20th century and winner of the 1948 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Eliot is best known for works such as The Waste Land and Four Quartets, but there is another, rather more playful side to his writing: Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.

Published in 1939, this collection of whimsical poems about cats later inspired the famous musical Cats. 🎭🐱

So today, we celebrate Eliot with a question:
