"It is a blessing."

That's how Gerarda, 71, describes the life farm that now sustains her family in the community of Anrabí.

She has spent her whole life caring for her home: her husband, her brother-in-law —who has a hearing and speech disability— and her 16-year-old adopted daughter. When her daughter-in-law shared vegetables from her own life farm, Gerarda felt the desire to grow her own, and that desire brought her to Pan de Vida. Last year she received her multiplication life farm, and with it a new chapter began.

Despite her age, she attends every training, learns every technique, and tends her life farm with a dedication you can see in the results: at least two full harvests, a seed bank, and a garden that was promoted to a Basic Life Farm.

We provided the life farm, the fence, and the training. Gerarda brought the heart and the hands 🌿

When her husband's work is scarce, her vegetables become the family's sustenance. And they are also a gift: she shares what God grows in her soil with her daughters and her family.

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." — Philippians 1:6

🎒✨ Mission accomplished!

At Pan de Vida, we delivered school kits to 314 children:

📍 Quito: 115 children
📍 Otavalo: 199 children

Each kit included school supplies, a backpack, and vitamins—essential tools to support them throughout this new chapter.

Thank you, Christ, for providing the resources and bringing together the people who made this possible! We are confident that this will be a year filled with learning, growth, and development for these 314 children. 📚💛

Every activity is an opportunity to share something that transforms lives: the love of Jesus. ❤️

Our children learned that what He did on the cross was personal… Jesus saved each one of them. ✝️

A smile may seem like something small, but we never know how far it can reach. 💛

It can brighten a difficult day, restore hope, and often inspire another smile. 😊✨

Because when someone smiles, something changes… and that joy is shared with others too.

Today, share a smile. It might be exactly what someone needs. 🤍

Meet Silvia 💛

A little over a year ago, Silvia's life took an unexpected turn, and she became the sole provider for her two children—one of them with a special condition that requires constant care—without formal employment and starting almost from scratch.

But Silvia never let go of one certainty: that she is a daughter of God, and that He has good plans for her.

With that faith she came to Pan de Vida and joined our microentrepreneurship program. She learned to shape an idea, to run her own business, and to trust in her own potential. At the end of the process she took part in our Shark Tank and earned second place. 🏆

Today Silvia has her own hair accessories business, which supports her family and keeps growing day by day. Going from depending on someone else to creating her household's livelihood with her own hands: that is the story of perseverance we celebrate with her.

Thank you, Silvia, for reminding us that with faith and determination, it is always possible to begin again. 🙌

What a mission trip in Ecuador looks like 🇪🇨

A trip with Pan de Vida means spending your days in the communities we serve — visiting families in their homes, working alongside our local staff and volunteers 🤝, and helping with whatever the week calls for, from meal distributions to school and church programs.

The work changes from trip to trip depending on the season and what each community needs, but it's always hands-on and always shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who live and minister here year-round. Much of the time is spent simply getting to know families, hearing their stories, and sharing the love of Jesus 💛 in everyday ways.

It's less about a single big project and more about being present, learning from the community, and taking part in the ongoing work God is doing in Ecuador. 🙌

33 Champions gathered in Quichinche at the Virginia Guinea Pig Breeding Center for another Champions’ Gathering. 🐹🌱

These gatherings are a space for Champions to share their experiences, exchange knowledge, and learn about a specific topic together. This time, the focus was on proper guinea pig care, sharing practical knowledge and experiences to strengthen their work.

A meaningful opportunity to learn from one another and continue growing together as a community. 💚

🌱 Our Urban Gardening Workshop is underway!

Participants have begun a new cycle of our Urban Gardening Program, where they are learning practical techniques for growing food at home. Throughout the workshop, they will receive hands-on training in planting, caring for, and harvesting a variety of crops.

So far, participants are working with tomato, cherry tomato, lettuce, pepper, and cucumber seeds, taking the first steps toward growing their own gardens.

We look forward to seeing these gardens grow in the months ahead!

When Daniela no longer knew where to turn, God opened a door. 🙏

She arrived in Ecuador from Venezuela as a single mother, working tirelessly to care for her two daughters. Over time, her own mother was also forced to leave the country, and the needs health, education, a moment to breathe kept growing.

Through Pan de Vida, her family found a community willing to walk alongside them: medical care, food, clothing, and spiritual support. Her girls now take part in camps, English classes, and activities where they learn about God's love, and her mother found a place to learn and contribute from home through our urban gardening program 🌱

Despite it all, Daniela continues to radiate joy. She always greets others with a smile… the same one you can now see in her two daughters ☺️

Stories like this are possible thanks to you. Thank you for helping us continue to walk alongside families who are finding hope once again. 🫶🏻
