Peace Corps Ecuador Official page for Peace Corps Ecuador About Peace Corps
The Peace Corps traces its roots and mission to 1960, when then Senator John F.

Kennedy challenged students at the University of Michigan to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. From that inspiration grew an agency of the federal government devoted to world peace and friendship. Since that time, more than 240,000 Americans of all ages have responded to Kennedy’s call to serve and have helped communities in 161 countries to w

ork on issues ranging from AIDS education to information technology and environmental preservation. Today's Peace Corps is more vital than ever, working in emerging and essential areas such as information technology and business development, and contributing to the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. Peace Corps Volunteers continue to support countless individuals who want to build a better life for themselves, their children, and their communities.

Michael and his community are upgrading their school’s computer lab to solve a key challenge: outdated equipment limiting students’ access to digital learning. Together, they’re adding 13 new computers and a projector so teachers can lead interactive lessons and build technology skills through ongoing trainings.💻 🌟

This project will help more than 280 students gain practical digital skills for education and future opportunities and 100% of donated funds go directly to this community project.

Michael’s project is less than $500 away from its goal. Help the community reach the finish line: https://www.peacecorps.gov/donate/projects/pp-26-518-010/

Health & Well-Being Volunteer Dawson A. teamed up with local partners, including the community organization Clinica Ambiental, to tackle a critical challenge: access to clean drinking water for youth.

In many communities, water sources are contaminated by agriculture, livestock, mining, and petroleum activity, making them unsafe to drink.

To help address this, Dawson collaborated with teachers and parent committees to lead water filter trainings, hands-on assembly workshops, and community work parties ensuring local schools could install and maintain their own filters. This was all made possible through grant support and strong community partnerships. 🌟

⚽️🇪🇨!Vamos Tricolor! ¡Vamos mi Ecuador! 🇪🇨⚽️

With the World Cup in full swing we wanted to spotlight some game time of our own!

Over the course of service Volunteers are heavily involved in sports, contributing to their friendships and integration. Many PCVs cater their secondary projects to youth clubs, where kids learn about the importance of physical health through exercise.

Keep up with Ecuador this World Cup season, as their next game premiers this Saturday, June 20th.

¡Sí se puede!💛💙❤️
