ESTDEV ja TaiwanICDF allkirjastasid vastastikuse mõistmise memorandumi, et tugevdada koostööd Ukraina ülesehitamisel 🇺🇦

Eesti ja Taiwani koostöömudel tagab projektide kiire ja efektiivse elluviimise vastavalt Ukraina vajadustele. Kokkulepe laiendab Eesti ja Taiwani vahelist koostööd, keskendudes mahukamatele ja süsteemse mõjuga projektidele.

🤝 TaiwanICDF have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen our shared commitment to rebuilding Ukraine 🇺🇦

The cooperation model between Estonia and Taiwan allows for the fast and effective implementation of projects tailored to Ukraine’s priorities. This new agreement expands our partnership, focusing on larger-scale projects with systemic impact.

🔹 ESTDEV's Executive Director Andrea Kivi: “Today’s agreement marks an important step in strengthening our partnership and expanding our joint efforts to respond to Ukraine’s priorities and evolving needs.”

The three-year MoU builds on the success of a 1.1 million euros partnership in 2024, which provided a family-style small group home, complete with a bomb shelter, for a displaced foster family in Zhytomyr. Looking ahead, the agreement paves the way for numerous future collaborations, including co-funding development projects in Ukraine, exchanging expertise, and launching joint initiatives in healthcare, energy, and education.

Eesti startupi ökosüsteem tugineb vähesele bürokraatiale, globaalsele mõtteviisile ja tugevale digitaristule. Nüüd ulatub selle mõju veelgi kaugemale, toetades Ukraina ja Aafrika idufirmasid.

Innovation thrives when entrepreneurs are connected with the knowledge, networks, and opportunities they need to grow.

At Latitude59, and Civitta welcomed founders from accelerator programmes supporting Ukraine’s technology sector and digital and green innovation in Africa.

The entrepreneurs gained valuable insights into scaling businesses, attracting investment and building international partnerships. For many, Estonia’s experience with digital transformation, entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem development offered practical lessons that can be adapted in their home markets.

By sharing Estonia’s expertise, ESTDEV helps strengthen innovation ecosystems, support sustainable economic development and create new opportunities for cooperation between Estonia and partner countries.

This week, ESTDEV’s education team is attending eLearning Africa in Ghana, where educators, policymakers, and innovators come together to discuss the future of learning across the continent.

ESTDEV’s Head of Education, Gertha Teidla-Kunitsõn, participated in two panel discussions focused on the digitalization of teaching and bridging the global digital skills gap.

“The eLearning Africa conference focuses on key priorities for ESTDEV and its partners. It offers a valuable opportunity for Estonia to learn about educational challenges and innovations across Africa while sharing Estonia’s education success story and the expertise of its partners,” said Teidla-Kunitsõn.

Construction sector companies play a key role in 🏗️ 🇺🇦

At today’s business seminar organized by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ’s Chief Operating Officer, Margus Gering, led a panel discussion on the experiences of Estonian construction companies working in Ukraine. 🇪🇪🤝🇺🇦

The panel brought together Sven Mats from AS Matek, Martin Talts from KMT Prefab OÜ and Alo Tamm from Harmet OÜ, all of whom have successfully delivered reconstruction projects in Ukraine in partnership with ESTDEV. 🙌

✍️ A clear message emerged from the discussion: engaging in Ukraine’s reconstruction was a natural business decision. The panelists agreed that entering the Ukrainian market has not been fundamentally different from expanding into any other country. While risks exist and adapting to local conditions is essential, these are familiar realities for all companies operating internationally. 📈

🔹 As Volodymyr Boiechko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia, stated in his opening remarks, Ukraine’s reconstruction needs will remain immense and the message to Estonian companies is simple – engage now.

Estonia’s expertise, innovation, and practical know-how can help deliver fast, efficient, and future-ready solutions where they are needed most, while playing a meaningful role in shaping a stronger future for Ukraine. 🙏

ESTDEVi tegevjuht Andrea Kivi kõneles Riigi Infosüsteemi Ameti 15. juubelikonverentsil, mis tunnustas pühendumust ja innovatsiooni Eesti digiriigi arendamisel.

Eesti kogemus on aluseks ka ESTDEVi rahvusvahelisele arengukoostööle. Andrea rõhutas, et me ei vii partnerriikidesse valmis mudelit, vaid toetame neid turvalise, kaasava ja kestliku digiriigi vundamendi rajamisel, mis võimaldab neil oma digiriiki edaspidi ise arendada 🤝.

Selline koostöö loob usalduse, mille pinnalt avanevad uued võimalused nii partnerriikidele kui ka Eesti ekspertidele ja ettevõtetele✅.

🏆Seda näitas eriti selgelt 2025. aasta, mil ESTDEV tõi Eestisse rekordilised 21,3 miljonit eurot rahvusvahelist rahastust e-valitsemise ja küberturvalisuse projektidesse.
Need algatused tugevdavad partnerriikide vastupanuvõimet ja panustavad globaalsesse julgeolekusse, kinnitades ühtlasi, et Eesti avaliku ja erasektori kogemus on maailmas kõrgelt hinnatud ekspordiartikkel ja uute ärivõimaluste looja.

Taaskord oli rõõm kokku kutsuda meie partnerid, kes sel aastal lükkavad Keenias 🇰🇪, Botswanas 🇧🇼, Ugandas 🇺🇬 ja Sambias 🇿🇲 käima uued arengukoostöö projektid 🌍

Need projektid kestavad kuni 2027. aasta lõpuni ning annavad väga olulise panuse kogu Eesti arengukoostöösse maailmas. 👇

Exciting new projects coming in Kenya 🇰🇪, Botswana 🇧🇼, Uganda 🇺🇬, and Zambia 🇿🇲, implemented by this year’s grant recipients 🌍

We were happy to host our good partners 🤝 at ’s office and learn more about their plans for new projects for 2026 and through 2027. These projects build on areas like education, entrepreneurship and digital transformation, where Estonian expertise has already had a significant impact in Africa.

🔹“It is encouraging to see that many projects build on previously initiated cooperation and address systemic changes with impacts that extend beyond a single project. Linking those with larger European initiatives allows us to scale models that have already proven successful in Estonia and are clearly needed in the African context,” said Katrin Winter, Head of Partnerships and New Initiatives at ESTDEV.

🇺🇦🤝🇪🇪 Join Ukrainian and Estonian tech companies and innovators in Kyiv for a three-day hackathon dedicated to developing AI-powered solutions for government services, with a €15,000 prize pool and opportunities for real-world implementation.

Estonia is one of the global symbols of the digital state. Ukraine is one of the most dynamic GovTech ecosystems in Europe. Within the hackathon, we will combine the experience of both countries to co-create solutions for governments of the coming decades. 🌐

The offline event brings together AI engineers, developers, startups, and GovTech teams from Ukraine and Estonia to build technological solutions addressing real challenges in the public sector.

📆 4. juunil toimub Välisministeeriumis Ukraina äriseminar, mis keskendub Eesti ehitussektori võimalustele Ukraina ülesehitamisel. Päeva jooksul antakse ülevaade Ukraina riigihangetest, Žõtomõri piirkonna investeerimisvajadustest ning Eesti ettevõtete praktilistest kogemustest Ukrainas.

Eelmisel nädalal toimus Kiievis EL-i statistika koostööprogrammi “EU4Statistics Ukraine Progamme” avaüritus, kus osalesid Eesti, Rootsi ja Euroopa Liidu esindajad, et toetada Ukraina statistikasüsteemi reformide elluviimist.

Statistika on reformide seisukohalt võtmetähtsusega valdkond, kuna see on arengu ja Ukraina EL-ga integreerumise protsessi jälgimiseks hädavajalik.

ESTDEV ja Eesti Statistikaamet keskenduvad Ukraina statistika institutsionaalse raamistiku arendamisele.

🇪🇪🤝🇺🇦 Estonia is partnering with the European Union and Sweden to support the reform of Ukraine’s statistical system through the newly launched EU4Statistics Ukraine Programme.

Strong institutions and reliable data are essential for effective reconstruction, transparent governance and progress towards EU membership. Over the next three and a half years, will contribute its expertise to strengthen the institutional framework of Ukraine’s statistical system, supporting reforms in governance, organisational development and alignment with European standards.

Building on existing cooperation between Statistics Estonia and the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the programme will help improve the quality, reliability and usability of national statistics for evidence-based policymaking.

The EU4Statistics Ukraine Programme has a total budget of €7.1 million and is co-funded by the European Union, Sweden and Estonia.
