Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy Directs Preaching Departments to Include National Awareness and Countering Rumors in Outreach Plans:

During his meeting with the general directors of preaching departments nationwide, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Gendy, Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, directed that upcoming religious outreach and awareness action plans include topics and issues related to protecting the homeland, safeguarding societal awareness, consolidating the cohesion of the internal front, and combating rumors and attempts to spread despair and frustration.
This comes in light of the multiple challenges facing the state, and in response to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s emphasis on the importance of concerted efforts between state institutions and citizens to preserve Egypt and its stability.
Dr. Al-Gendy stressed the necessity of extending these topics to various activities and events of Al-Azhar preachers across all governorates of the republic. This includes Friday sermons, lessons, meetings, symposiums, awareness lectures, outreach convoys, and other programmes implemented by preachers in mosques, universities, Al-Azhar institutes, schools, hospitals, government institutions, youth centers, clubs, culture palaces, and other venues of direct interaction with citizens.
The Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy emphasized the importance of religious and awareness programmes addressing issues of national consciousness, the individual's responsibility in preserving their homeland's resources, the danger of rumors and misinformation, and the necessity of verifying news before circulating it.
These directives come in light of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's statements during his meeting with the Prime Minister, cabinet ministers, governors, and several senior officials and experts, affirming that the state faces multiple challenges and that Egyptian awareness serves as a bulwark against attempts to harm the country.

يأتي ذلك في ضوء التحديات المتعددة التي تواجه الدولة، واستجابةً لما أكده السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي، رئيس الجمهورية، بشأن أهمية تضافر جهود مؤسسات الدولة والمواطنين للحفاظ على مصر واستقرارها.

الدكتور الجندي شدد على ضرورة أن تمتد هذه الموضوعات إلى مختلف أنشطة وعاظ الأزهر وفعالياتهم في مختلف محافظات الجمهورية، بما يشمل خطب الجمعة، والدروس واللقاءات والندوات والمحاضرات التوعوية، والقوافل الدعوية، وغيرها من البرامج التي ينفذها الوعاظ في المساجد والجامعات والمعاهد الأزهرية والمدارس والمستشفيات والمؤسسات الحكومية ومراكز الشباب والأندية وقصور الثقافة، وغيرها من مواقع التواصل المباشر مع المواطنين.

وأكد الأمين العام لمجمع البحوث الإسلامية أهمية أن تتناول البرامج الدعوية والتوعوية قضايا الوعي الوطني، ومسؤولية الفرد في الحفاظ على مقدرات وطنه، وخطورة الشائعات والمعلومات المضللة، وضرورة التثبت من الأخبار قبل تداولها.

وتأتي هذه التوجيهات في ضوء ما أكده الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي، خلال اجتماعه برئيس مجلس الوزراء ومجلسي الوزراء والمحافظين وعدد من كبار المسؤولين والخبراء، من أن الدولة تواجه تحديات متعددة، وأن وعي المصريين يمثل حائط الصد أمام محاولات الإضرار بالدولة.

The Grand Mufti of Egypt Condemns the Terrorist Attack on an Electricity Distribution Station in Medina, Affirming:
​Targeting vital facilities associated with the Prophet's Mosque transcends in its impact the boundaries of the targeted location.
​The security of Grand Mosques and Sanctuaries and the safety of Umrah performers and visitors is a responsibility felt by the entire Islamic Ummah.
​His Eminence Prof. Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for World Daralsifaa and Fatwa Authorities, strongly condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that targeted an electricity distribution station in Medina, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
​The Grand Mufti affirmed that targeting vital installations and facilities, particularly those providing services to the Prophet’s Noble Mosque, transcends in its impact the boundaries of the targeted location, given Medina's firm and deep-rooted status in the hearts of Muslims, and its immense religious significance as the city of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH).
​The Grand Mufti stressed that targeting vital facilities and terrifying peaceful people is a crime that contradicts the tolerant teachings of Islam and violates its objectives of preserving life and safeguarding security. He affirmed that the security of the Two Holy Mosques and the safety of Umrah performers and visitors is a responsibility deeply felt by the entire Islamic Ummah, praying to Almighty Allah to protect the Land of the Two Holy Mosques, to sustain the security and tranquility of the city of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), to protect its people and visitors from all harm and evil, and to bestow upon the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia security and stability.

ويشدد مفتي الجمهورية على أن استهداف المنشآت الحيوية وترويع الآمنين جريمة تتنافى مع تعاليم الإسلام السمحة، وتخالف مقاصده في حفظ النفس وصون الأمن، مؤكدًا أن أمن الحرمين الشريفين وسلامة المعتمرين والزائرين مسؤولية تستشعرها الأمة الإسلامية جمعاء، داعيًا الله تعالى أن يحفظ بلاد الحرمين الشريفين، وأن يديم على مدينة رسول الله ﷺ أمنها وسكينتها، وأن يحفظ أهلها وقاصديها من كل مكروه وسوء، وأن ينعم على المملكة العربية السعودية بالأمن والاستقرار.

During His Eminence’s Address at the First International Conference on Religious Studies in Italy, the Grand Mufti Affirms:
* The shared human space is not a modern cognitive novelty brought about by modernity; religions were pioneers in establishing it and calling for its entrenchment in real life.
* The values of mercy, love, and peace serve as the overarching umbrella for shared human values across religions.
* Openness to the other does not mean dissolving into them; safeguarding cultural identity is a prerequisite for balanced interaction and building an authentic renaissance.
* Making a clean break with heritage and imposing Western methodologies upon it aborts the chances of emerging independent rationality that responds to current realities and preserves identity.
* Proposals regarding the historicity of religious texts raise deep epistemological and theological problems; studying and critiquing their premises is essential to safeguard religious consciousness.
* Contemporary wars highlight the urgent need to restore mercy and transform religious values into an active force that protects humanity and safeguards its dignity.
* The necessity of establishing a joint international committee of religious leaders for direct communication with decision-makers to counter wars and conflicts.
His Eminence Prof. Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for World Daralsifaa and Fatwa Authorities, stated that the issue of shared human values rests upon two complementary dimensions: a religious dimension connected to texts and teachings that laid the foundations of communication, mutual acquaintance, and cooperation among humans; and a philosophical dimension addressing the relationship between the self and the other, and the imperative interaction, communication, and mutual influence this relationship dictates. He pointed out that humans cannot live in isolation from others, and that civilisational interaction is not merely a passing option, but rather a human and historical necessity dictated by the nature of human association, making the grounding of shared human values a fundamental gateway to building more balanced relations among peoples and civilisations.
This came during His Eminence’s address at the First International Conference on Religious Studies, held under the theme “Religion and the Human Common: Contemporary Approaches in Theology and Religious Studies”, organised by the Mohamed bin Zayed University for Human Sciences in collaboration with the University of Padua and the University of Eastern Piedmont, featuring an elite group of academics, researchers, and specialists in religious studies from around the world.
The Grand Mufti explained that the human common does not represent a cognitive emergency produced by modernity, nor did contemporary philosophies monopolise its establishment. Rather, religions were pioneers in laying its foundations and calling for its entrenchment in daily life. He stressed that modernist approaches themselves have benefited from the textual spirit of religion and a sound understanding of its teachings, and that portraying religions as an obstacle to human communication or an antithesis to its values contradicts historical facts and the evidence of religious texts.
His Eminence indicated that the values of mercy, love, and peace constitute the umbrella uniting the shared human values among religions. He noted that mercy holds a pristine position in the teachings of divine laws, acting as a religious and moral value that underpins the relationship between human beings, supports the principles of compassion and mutual solidarity, and preserves human dignity. He emphasised that invoking this value in religious forums should not remain restricted to theoretical formulation; rather, it must transform into a moral and human responsibility that drives religious institutions, scholars, and influential forces to contribute actively towards curbing wars, averting conflicts, and protecting the vulnerable—particularly children, women, and the elderly. This includes declaring the innocence of divine laws from being weaponised to inflame conflicts, and pooling international efforts to halt wars and restore mercy to the forefront of human consciousness.
The Grand Mufti drew attention to the fact that strengthening the human common does not require relinquishing cultural identity or dissolving into the other. Consensus around common interests and human values can coexist with pride in identity and independence of civilisational character. He explained that conscious openness does not mean assimilation into the elements of others, but is rather based on a mutual perception of the boundaries of the self and the other, enabling interaction and cooperation without compromising constants and fundamentals. He stressed that Islamic heritage possesses a rich cognitive and foundational asset, manifested in the efforts of its scholars to decode texts and understand historical events, qualifying it to contribute to building a balanced vision of the relationship between authenticity and modernity.
The Grand Mufti warned against calls advocating a clean break with heritage or appealing to Western methodologies and forcibly imposing them on texts and reality. Such calls lead to wasting authentic cognitive treasures and weakening the capacities to build an independent rationality that responds to the needs and developmental aspirations of societies. He underlined that true modernity does not mean uprooting oneself from the pillars of identity, but rather possessing the ability to comprehend heritage, re-read it, critique it, and employ it rationally, transforming it from a mere historical legacy into a driving force for progress and the creation of the present and the future.
His Eminence addressed the issue of the historicity of the religious text and the associated modernistic propositions that seek to read the Quranic text in light of its historical and social contexts. He explained that some of these propositions make reality a central starting point for understanding the text, leading to the relativism of certain rulings and a reconsideration of their applications as reality changes, alongside subjecting the text to methodologies that transcend its religious specificity. He stressed, however, that benefiting from various contexts in understanding the text does not mean transforming them into an alternative reference to it or subjugating revelation to methodologies that strip it of its specificity and constants. He underscored that these propositions raise deep epistemological and theological dilemmas, making their study and the critique of their premises a necessity for safeguarding religious consciousness and preserving the correct understanding of texts.
The Grand Mufti warned that strengthening the shared human common requires integration among religious, academic, and societal institutions, and the transformation of the values of tolerance, dialogue, and acceptance of the other into effective practices to counter fanaticism and clashes. He affirmed that the persistence of wars and conflicts calls for a transition from statements and recommendations to effective practical mechanisms, recommending the establishment of a "Joint International Committee of Religious Leaders" to communicate directly with decision-makers, participate in international forums, coordinate efforts to call for halting conflicts and protecting civilians, and translate conference recommendations into practical initiatives that promote peace.
In concluding his address, the Grand Mufti expressed his aspiration that the conference's proceedings would yield practical visions and initiatives that anchor tolerance, coexistence, and human dignity. He stressed that confronting current crises necessitates restoring the values of mercy, peace, and cooperation, while expressing his appreciation to the Mohamed bin Zayed University for Human Sciences for its efforts in fostering coexistence and deepening academic and religious dialogue around shared human values.

Grand Mufti of Egypt Receives Bangladeshi Imams to Boost Academic Cooperation and Review Fatwa Agency’s Efforts
​His Eminence the Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Professor Dr Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, received on Monday a delegation of Bangladeshi imams. The visit aimed to enhance academic cooperation and review the efforts of the Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta in the field of issuing edicts (fatwas). His Eminence expressed his appreciation for this distinguished visit, noting that it reflects the depth of academic and religious relations between the two nations.
​The Grand Mufti explained that Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta places great emphasis on preparing and qualifying muftis through its affiliated training centre, which offers specialised training programmes lasting up to three years. He pointed out that these programmes aim to shape well-guided muftis capable of synthesizing Islamic jurisprudence and Arabic sciences with the contemporary knowledge necessary for issuing fatwas. This is in addition to mastering a thorough understanding of modern-day realities, thereby safeguarding the practice of fatwa from being hijacked by unqualified or non-specialised individuals.
​His Eminence offered several insights to the Bangladeshi imams, urging them to act as ambassadors for their country in articulating the true essence of Islam and showcasing its tolerant nature. He emphasised that this can only be achieved through diligence and deliberation before issuing fatwas, commitment to rigorous academic grounding, and openness to diverse jurisprudential opinions and legal schools to ensure a precise understanding of contemporary issues. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of facilitating matters for people, alleviating distress, adhering to modern moderation, and calling to the path of Allah with wisdom and fair exhortation. He underscored the necessity of continuous learning and research to counter extremist ideologies.
​On their part, the members of the Bangladeshi delegation expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Grand Mufti for the warm reception and hospitality. They commended the extensive efforts of the Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta in promoting moderation and cementing the values of tolerance. The delegation affirmed that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif represents an enduring and accredited academic reference from which they derive their moderate approach, expressing their aspiration to benefit from Dar Al-Ifta's accumulated expertise, particularly in training and qualifying muftis to keep pace with contemporary challenges and emerging issues.

Egypt Strongly Condemns Iranian Attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain
​The Arab Republic of Egypt has condemned, in the strongest possible terms, the Iranian attacks targeting the brotherly nations of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain using missiles and drones. Egypt stated that these actions constitute a flagrant violation of their sovereignty, a threat to their security and stability, and an unacceptable escalation that undermines efforts aimed at consolidating calm and reducing tensions in the region.

​📍 Egypt reiterates its full solidarity with the brotherly nations of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain, alongside its total support for all measures they take to safeguard their security and stability. 🏆⚡ Egypt Maintenance Company (San Misr) has secured a new milestone by winning an international tender issued by the Arab Potash Company in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The contract tasks the company with executing long-term maintenance works for the gas turbines at the enterprise’s power generation plant, following fierce competition with several major specialised global firms.

​💶 The contract, valued at approximately €46 million over a 10-year tenure, encompasses the provision of integrated maintenance services and technical support for two Siemens Energy gas turbine units. These units generate 110 MW of electrical power, in addition to producing 170 tonnes of steam per hour to meet the demands of the industrial operations within the complex.

🏆⚡ حققت شركة مصر للصيانة (صان مصر) إنجازاً جديداً بفوزها بالمناقصة الدولية التي طرحتها شركة البوتاس العربية بالمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية لتنفيذ أعمال الصيانة طويلة الأجل للتوربينات الغازية بمحطتها لتوليد الطاقة، وذلك بعد منافسة قوية مع عدد من كبرى الشركات العالمية المتخصصة.

💶 يبلغ إجمالي قيمة العقد نحو 46 مليون يورو لمدة 10 سنوات، ويتضمن تقديم خدمات الصيانة المتكاملة والدعم الفني لوحدتي التوربينات الغازية من إنتاج شركة Siemens Energy، واللتين تسهمان في توليد طاقة كهربائية بقدرة 110 ميجاوات، بالإضافة إلى إنتاج بخار بقدرة 170 طنًا في الساعة لتلبية احتياجات العمليات الصناعية بالمجمع.
