🇱🇻🇪🇪🇱🇹 – a human chain of 2 million people stretching from Tallinn, through Riga, to Vilnius. This non-violent protest on 23 August 1989 captured the world's attention as the three Baltic nations clearly expressed their will for freedom and independence, and declared that the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, signed exactly 50 years earlier, was a crime committed by totalitarian regimes.

Hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, we remain united to this day through our actions, our thoughts, and our unwavering support for Ukraine.

Saules mūžu Latvijai! 🇱🇻

, 35 years ago, Latvia 🇱🇻 restored its de facto independence, firmly re-establishing its place among democratic nations and the European family.

On 21 August 1991, the Supreme Council adopted the Constitutional Law on the Statehood of the Republic of Latvia, while Soviet military pressure was mounting and an attack on the Parliament building was expected at any moment.

Latvia shares a special bond with Iceland 🇮🇸, the first UN 🇺🇳 member state to recognise our independence the very next day, on 22 August. A week later, on 29 August, the Swedish 🇸🇪 Embassy became the first foreign embassy to reopen in Riga. By the end of 1991, Latvia had been recognised by 93 countries.

As then, so today and in the future, the Latvian Foreign Service continues to strengthen and broaden our international ties.

Kā rīkoties?
👉 Saņemot negaidītus zvanus, īsziņas vai e-pastus, neizpaust paroles, PIN kodus vai cita veida autentifikācijas kodus. Pārliecinieties, ka darbību esat iniciējis pats!

CSDD kiberincidentā noplūduši 1,2 miljonu fizisko personu dati – personas kodi, vārdi un uzvārdi, adreses, transportlīdzekļu reģistrācijas numuri un informācija par maksājumiem. Krāpnieki šo informāciju var izmantot, lai viņu zvani, īsziņas vai e-pasti izskatītos ticamāki un būtu pielāgoti konkrētam cilvēkam.

Tādēļ drošībai atgādinām:

🔹 Tas, ka zvanītājs vai ziņas sūtītājs zina Tavu vārdu, personas kodu, adresi vai auto numuru, nenozīmē, ka viņam vari uzticēties.

🔹 Nekad neapstiprini Smart-ID vai eParaksts mobile autentifikācijas pieprasījumu, kuru pats neesi uzsācis.

🔹 Neklikšķini uz SMS vai e-pastā saņemtām aizdomīgām saitēm. Informāciju labāk pārbaudi, pats manuāli atverot attiecīgā pakalpojuma oficiālo vietni vai lietotni un pieslēdzoties savam profilam.

🔹 Šaubu gadījumā piezvani iestādei vai bankai uz tās oficiālajā mājaslapā norādīto tālruņa numuru.

🔹 Nevienam neizpaud PIN kodus, paroles vai autentifikācijas un drošības kodus (pat ja Tev zvana banka vai policija).

On the occasion of Cairo City 1057 founding anniversary, Ms Dina Giluce, Chargée d’Affairs of the Embassy of Latvia in Egypt, participated in the ceremony of celebration organised by the Governorate of Cairo, with a kind invitation of Dr. Ibrahim Saber Khalil, Governor of Cairo.
The event was unique opportunity to have a tour in historic Cairo, as well as visit several restored historical sites - mosques and part of Islamic Cairo heritage. Visit included the Arts street with exhibitions, cultural and artistic performances and Al Ahzar park with its beautiful sight and sunset provided additional emotional touch of the day of city’s anniversary.
The Embassy thanks sincerely Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber Khalil and his team of the Cairo Governorate for the kind invitation and excellent organisation. It was a pleasure to learn that several employees of the Cairo Governorate have good connection with our capital Riga. The Embassy looks forward to continuing and promoting cultural dialogue between Egypt and Latvia.


بمناسبة الذكرى ال1057 لتأسيس مدينة القاهرة، شاركت السيدة دينا جيلوسى، القائم بأعمال سفارة لاتفيا فى القاهرة فى الحفل الذى نظمته محافظة القاهرة و ذلك تلبية لدعوة كريمة من الدكتور إبراهيم صابر خليل محافظ القاهرة.
شكل الحدث فرصة فريدة للقيام بجولة فى القاهرة التاريخية و زيارة العديد من المواقع الاثرية المرممة بما فى ذلك المساجد و معالم من تراث القاهرة الاسلامي. كما شملت الجولة "شارع الفنون" بما يضمه من معارض وعروض ثقافية و فنية بالاضافة الى زيارة حديقة الازهر حيث أضفت مناظرها الخلابة و مشهد الغروب لمسة وجدانية مميزة على يوم الاحتفال بذكرى تأسيس المدينة.
تتقدم السفارة بخالص الشكر لمحافظ القاهرة الدكتور إبراهيم صابر خليل و فريق عمله فى محافظة القاهرة على الدعوة الكريمة و التنظيم المتميز. و قد كان من دواعى سرورنا أن نعلم بوجود روابط طيبة تجمع عددا من موظفى محافظة القاهرة بعاصمتنا "ريجا".
و تتطلع السفارة الى مواصلة الحوار الثقافى بين مصر و
لاتفيا و تعزيزه.
