EMBASSY LUNCHEON WITH MTCP ALUMNI, 20 AUGUST 2026

H.E. Dato’ Mohd Tarid Sufian, Ambassador of Malaysia to Egypt hosted a luncheon with the MTCP Alumni on 20 August 2026 at Botanica.25 Restaurant, Sheraton Cairo Hotel. The programme was organized as a platform to networking with the Egyptian participants of MTCP programme and to gather feedbacks and views on their experiences and perspectives about capacity building training in Malaysia.

The guest of honour of the event was H.E. Ambassador Wael El-Naggar, Assistant Foreign Minister for Cultural Affairs and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt.

During the programme, one of the participants shared his key takeaways from a training programme organised by Malaysia’s Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) in August 2026, highlighting the practical knowledge and experiences gained through the programme.

استضاف سعادة السفير داتؤ/ محمد تاريد سفيان، سفير ماليزيا لدى جمهورية مصر العربية، مأدبة غداء مع خريجي برنامج التعاون الفني الماليزي (MTCP) في يوم 20 أغسطس 2026 في مطعم بوتانيكا، بفندق شيراتون القاهرة. وقد نُظّم البرنامج كمنصة للتواصل مع المشاركين المصريين في برنامج MTCP، ولجمع آرائهم وملاحظاتهم حول تجاربهم وتطلعاتهم بشأن تلقي دورات تدرييبة في ماليزيا.
وكان ضيف الشرف في هذا الحدث سعادة السفير/ وائل النجار، مساعد وزير الخارجية المصري للشؤون الثقافية، ومسؤولون من وزارة الخارجية المصرية.
وخلال البرنامج، ذكر أحد المشاركين أهم النقاط التي استفاد منها من برنامج تدريبي نظمته وزارة التنمية الريفية والإقليمية الماليزية (KKDW) في أغسطس 2026، مسلطًا الضوء على المعرفة العملية والخبرات المكتسبة من خلال البرنامج.

Strengthening Malaysia–Egypt Cooperation through MTCP

On 20 August 2026, Ambassador of Malaysia to Egypt, Dato’ Mohd Tarid Sufian had an engagement with H.E. Ambassador Wael El-Naggar, Assistant Foreign Minister for Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at Sheraton Cairo Hotel.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for both sides to exchange views on the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) and explore potential programmes that could further benefit Egyptian participation and strengthen Malaysia–Egypt cooperation in capacity building and human capital development.

The briefing on MTCP application system was delivered online by Mr. Muhammad Azmi Abdullah Sukiang, Principal Assistant Secretary, International Cooperation and Development Division (ICADD), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

Malaysia looks forward to further strengthening the MTCP partnership with Egypt and enhancing people-to-people linkages through knowledge sharing, capacity building and professional development.

تعزيز التعاون الماليزي المصري من خلال برنامج التعاون الفني الماليزي

إلتقى سعادة سفير ماليزيا لدى جمهورية مصر العربية، داتؤ/ محمد تاريد سفيان، مع سعادة السفير/ وائل النجار، مساعد وزير الخارجية المصري للشؤون الثقافية بوزارة خارجية جمهورية مصر العربية، الخميس 20 أغسطس 2026، في فندق شيراتون القاهرة.
وقد أتاح الإجتماع فرصة قيّمة للجانبين لتبادل وجهات النظر حول برنامج التعاون الفني الماليزي (MTCP) واستكشاف البرامج المحتملة التي يمكن أن تفيد المشاركة المصرية بشكل أكبر وتعزز التعاون بين ماليزيا ومصر في بناء القدرات وتنمية رأس المال البشري.
وتم تقديم الإحاطة حول نظام تطبيق برنامج التعاون الفني الماليزي عبر الإنترنت من قبل السيد/ محمد عزمي عبد الله سوكيانغ، السكرتير المساعد الرئيسي، قسم التعاون الدولي والتنمية (ICADD)، وزارة الخارجية الماليزية.
وتتطلع ماليزيا إلى تعزيز شراكة برنامج التعاون الفني الماليزي مع جمهورية مصر العربية، وتعزيز الروابط بين الشعبين من خلال تبادل المعرفة وبناء القدرات والتطوير المهني.

Commemorating the 59th ASEAN Day in Cairo: Strengthening Unity, Global Partnerships & Regional Stability

On 10 August 2026, the Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo joined fellow members of the ASEAN Committee in Cairo (ACC) and other invited guests including media at the Official Residence of the Ambassador of Indonesia for the annual ASEAN Flag Hoisting Ceremony, celebrating 59 years of regional unity, solidarity, and partnership.

The ceremony featured key address highlights:

• The Ambassador of Indonesia emphasized ASEAN’s shared values that have enabled the regional bloc to remain an anchor of stability while steadily strengthening partnerships around the world.

• The Ambassador of the Philippines, as ACC Chairman, shared the theme of the Philippines’ 2026 ASEAN Chairmanship, “Navigating Our Future, Together,” guided by three core strategic priorities: peace and security, economic prosperity, and people empowerment. She also highlighted the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC)—a foundational pillar of peace and peaceful coexistence that Egypt officially acceded to in 2016.

We were especially honored by the presence of H.E. Ambassador Amr Hamzah, Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asian Affairs of Egypt, whose attendance signifies the deep-rooted, warm, and growing relationship between ASEAN and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The Embassy of Malaysia welcomed a delegation from the Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP) for a discussion on matters relating to the registration of property ownership in Egypt. The engagement focused on understanding the legal and administrative requirements governing property acquisition and registration to ensure full compliance with Egyptian laws and regulations.

To facilitate a better understanding of the process, the Embassy proposed that the delegation engage with a reputable Egyptian law firm to obtain expert legal advice on property legislation, due diligence, and the procedures for the proper registration and protection of property ownership in Egypt. This initiative aims to ensure that any future property transactions are undertaken in a transparent, secure, and legally compliant manner.
