يُحتفل بوفاء النيل في ١٥ أغسطس من كل عام، وهو عيد مصري قديم يمتد لأكثر من ٧٠٠٠ سنة، وذلك تقديراً لما يعطيه النيل من حياة لأرض مصر.
ويضم متحف ملوي بين مقتنياته العديد من القطع الفريدة التي تعبر عن مدى تقدير المصري القديم للنيل ومدى تنوع استخدامه؛ فليس للري فقط، بل وسيلةً للتنقل بين ربوع مصر.
Wafaa El-Nil (The Flooding of the Nile) is celebrated annually on August 15th—an ancient Egyptian festival dating back over 7,000 years—in recognition of the life the Nile bestows upon the land of Egypt. The Mallawi Museum houses numerous unique artifacts that reflect the ancient Egyptians' deep appreciation for the Nile and the diversity of its uses; it served not only for irrigation but also as a vital means of transportation across the country.
مركب يعلوها أربعة عشر تمثالاً للبحارة، وهم عبارة عن عشرة تماثيل جالسين بيد كلٍّ منهم مجداف، وواحد جالس في المقدمة ينظر إلى العشرة وبيده مجداف لتوجيه المركب، وثلاثة تماثيل أخرى واقفون في مقدمة المركب، أحدهم يقف ويده ممدودة إلى الأمام، والمركب والبحارة باللون الأحمر والأبيض والأسود.

A boat surmounted by fourteen figures of sailors: ten seated figures, each holding an oar; one seated at the prow, facing the ten and holding an oar to steer the vessel; and three standing figures at the prow, one of whom has an arm extended forward.
