Polop Walk and scramble to the Castellet
The walk to the tiny ruined Castle (El Castellet) is up through the estate avoiding walking along the main roads to the bottom of the hills. From there it follows a track to a quarry where there is a short scramble to the Cueva Fumada (a strange ruin which i dont know what it was for). The route i took then heads up through the forest below the León Dormido mountain to the pinnacle where the Castellet perches. access to the ruins is a short scramble to the top which isn't easy if you stray from the route.
Parking is outside Dia% supermarket or if you want to cut out some of the walking on the road then park on Carrer Bernia

Callosa d'en Sarria 16km Hike
For a nice and challenging walk this Walk from Callosa d'en Sarriá climbs 990m to 1125m in the first 7Km of the walk. The views down on the valleys below with the backdrop of the hills between Albir and Benidorm and out to sea is quite special . Looking DOWN on the hills with the famous Benidorm Cross really put into perspective the size of the surrounding mountains.
The Majority of the walk is on paths and tracks but the last 4km back to the parking is on road but it is a very quiet and pleasant.

Xirles ( also spelt Chirles ) near Polop has a whole network of footpaths and tracks where you can spend hours walking and exploring the countryside and see hardly anyone. An easy walk around The Orxeta Reservoir to a great restaurant. Easy walking and mainly on quiet country roads and tracks.

A walk to the cross is a must for anyone visiting Benidorm but the normal route up there by road isn't the only way there. Here is an alternative way there

Where to discover your next Adventure.
Finding out where you can and can not go put me off walking here in Spain but now with modern mobile phones it is no longer an issue. I personally use https://www.komoot.com/ on my phone and find it easy to use and very accurate.
It has a lot of paths and the route planning function works well most of the time. Saying that, there are paths marked on it that do lead you to dead ends, unused or blocked routes and sometimes dangerous places. Any trail on this page will be a route I have used and feel is ok to use but I cannot accept any responsibility for mistakes or problems.
I do enjoy a more challenging walk over a leisurely stroll but as a middle age (OMG when did that happen) and overweight guy you shouldn't need to be overly fit to enjoy these hikes

Hi there. I hope you have your boots packed are are ready to explore the other side of Benidorm. Away from the Booze and Beach there is stunning countryside to rival any of the national parks in the UK and it is largely unused.
