Join DA Madrid for our Annual General Meeting — an evening of political discussion, community, and organizing as we prepare for the crucial midterm elections this November. 🇺🇸🌍
We’ll hear from chapter leadership about everything we’ve accomplished together this past year, share ways to get involved moving forward, and welcome special guest speaker Jason Xidias for a discussion on What Happened in Hungary? — exploring democratic backsliding, the rise and consolidation of political power under Viktor Orbán, and what the Hungarian case can teach us about pressures facing democracies around the world today.
Jason Xidias is a Lecturer in Political Science and International Relations at New York University Madrid and Universidad Pontificia Comillas. He holds a Ph.D. in European Politics from King's College London and has also worked as an international politics journalist. His research focuses on American, Spanish, and European politics, with a particular emphasis on the far right and democratic erosion.
