🚨 Finally, real action at Orihuela Costa: Policía Local de Orihuela delivers major results in fight against crime
For a long time, many residents at Orihuela Costa have felt frustrated, vulnerable, and unheard. But in recent days, something has changed — and for the first time in a long time, we are seeing clear, visible, and decisive action.
The Policía Local de Orihuela, working alongside Guardia Civil and specialised units, has carried out multiple major operations across our coastal communities. And importantly, they are now openly communicating their results — something residents have been asking for.
The results are significant.
⸻
🔪 Illegal weapons seized, drugs removed, and suspect arrested
During a major joint security operation across Orihuela Costa, officers removed dangerous illegal knives from the streets and seized illegal narcotics that pose a serious risk to public safety.
A 40-year-old man was arrested for possession of co***ne.
In addition, police carried out extensive inspections of local establishments to ensure they comply with safety and legal requirements — protecting both residents and visitors.
This is proactive policing. This is prevention.

👮 Massive coastal deployment: over 40 officers, arrests, and safety violations uncovered
In an unprecedented coordinated operation involving Policía Local de Orihuela, Guardia Civil from Pilar de la Horadada, and the specialised USECIC unit, authorities deployed over 40 officers across Orihuela Costa.
The operation resulted in:
• Over 50 individuals identified and checked
• Two arrests of individuals with outstanding judicial warrants
• Multiple illegal substances seized
• Serious safety violations discovered in nightlife establishments
• Some venues found operating at up to three times their legal capacity, forcing immediate evacuation to protect public safety
These actions prevented potentially dangerous situations and demonstrated a strong commitment to enforcement.

🚔 Organised criminal group dismantled — stolen goods recovered
In one of the most important breakthroughs, Policía Local successfully dismantled an organised criminal group responsible for thefts targeting local businesses.
Following a security alert, officers tracked the suspects and intercepted their vehicle while they attempted to flee.
Inside, police discovered stolen goods including luxury sunglasses, clothing, and food products.
Approximately €2,000 worth of stolen items were recovered and returned to their rightful owners.
Five suspects were arrested.
This sends a clear message: organised crime is being actively targeted.
⸻
🏠 Attempted home burglary stopped in La Zenia — suspects arrested inside the property
In a separate incident on Calle Mayor in La Zenia, a vigilant resident noticed suspicious individuals entering a house that should have been empty and alerted authorities.
Policía Local responded immediately.
Officers entered the property and caught two men in the act of forcing entry and collecting valuables.
Both suspects were arrested on the spot.
This intervention likely prevented a full burglary and significant losses.
⸻
📢 A clear shift: action, visibility, and communication
These recent operations show something residents have been waiting for:
✔ Visible police presence
✔ Rapid response
✔ Arrests and dismantling of criminal groups
✔ Removal of drugs and weapons
✔ Prevention of burglaries
✔ And finally — open communication with the public
This transparency matters. It restores confidence. It shows that the safety of Orihuela Costa is being taken seriously.
Crime Watch Orihuela Costa has long highlighted the concerns of residents — and it is only fair to also recognise when decisive action is taken.
We sincerely thank the Policía Local and Guardia Civil officers involved in these operations.
Your work is being seen. Your work is making a difference.

🤝 Community cooperation remains essential
Many of these successes were only possible because residents spoke up, reported suspicious activity, and stayed vigilant.
This proves something important:
When the community and police work together, crime can be stopped.
If you see something suspicious, report it.
Together, we make Orihuela Costa safer.
