The house is the last in a little hamlet called Los Tornos, which is situated in the Alcornocolas National Park. The Alcornocolas Natural Park is a protected area and is world renowned for it’s cork trees and amazing wildlife. It is quite common to see a variety of bird life such as eagles, vultures and buzzards flying in the area. The property comprises of 3 double bedrooms, one with en-suite. Th
ere is a further shared bathroom, lounge, kitchen and dining room. The larger front double bedroom has an additional two beds under the existing beds. The house is bordered on all four sides with a traditional terrace and there is an external shower to cool off in the heat of the day. To the rear and sides of the house are stunning uninterrupted views of mountains and farm land. The front terrace is covered by a beautiful vine that produces lovely grapes when in season. This is a nice place to eat as it is protected by the wind and a little cooler in the summer. Opposite the house is the festival park of Los Tornos, which is used intermittently during the year for festivals, in particular the Romeria Festival (horse) in late May where all the locals gather in traditional costume. The garden is extensive but not developed using natural shrubs and trees with meadow grass. There is an extensive grassed area off the terrace, the remaining area remains natural pasture and in the spring months the meadow is beautiful. The house has all the necessary facilities, fresh mountain water is stored in the well in the garden and this is pumped into the house, mains water is also available if required. The house has hot water from the solar panels; the showers are amazing but remember there is only a tank full available. If the water does run out there is an immersion heater that will reheat the water in the tank at night but it will take a bit of time. There is 22Ov electric in the house but there is no telephone or internet connection. The house has a fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave/cooker, TV with British Freeview (information on how to set it up is in the manual at the house), DVD, speakers for an iPod system (you need a connector cable) and the all important gas BBQ. For the colder periods there are heaters in each room and a log burning stove in the lounge. The bathrooms have electric heaters for when you get out of the shower. Do not put anything on the electric radiators. In the lounge there is a selection of rattan furniture please feel free to take this inside and out. All the single chairs have foot stools, we put the cushions for the foot stalls underneath. Before you leave the house for the day or night please bring the furniture in as the wind can blow it around the garden and damage it.
