Today Jonathan and Beverly went to vist our Finca to have a look around and explore. From one of my aerial photos we identified a water hole that we didn't know was there. Its about 3m x 3m x 3m and build with stone wall lining. Jonathan took photos and sent this to me.

Then he might have identified the climbing rock about 1.6km away called "Tossal De Pena-Roja" (499m) we think.

Finally he found an old horn in the stable, in the finca.

What we hope to offer:- One of the best things about the area around Móra D’Ebre is the Dark Skies. Perfect for photographing the Milky Way, along with dramatic scenery.

Having spent the best part of the last 20 years filming wildlife programs for the BBC, including “The Really Wild Show” and “Deadly 60” amongst others, I’m looking in to running nature filming and photography sessions for budding wildlife cameramen and women at the beginning of their careers.

This would involve setting up and the using of camera traps endeavour capturing images of the wild boar, trips into mountains to find and film eagles and there visiting the river Ebre where the giant Wels Catfish can be found. And caught.

We are planning “Off Grid“ B & B accommodation in Safari tents with a shower block and loo.

We’ve found a property in Tivissa which we are going to purchase. The criteria for this location was: high up in the hills with stunning scenic views, a building or ruin with a minimum of 30m² and also flat area for parking, glamping / camping etc and a cisterna for rainwater harvesting.

Living Off-Grid in Tivissa, Catalunya, Spain. This is the start of a journey with Mark and Polly Vinall to try and live sustainably, using the sun for power, rainwater harvesting and other Eco friendly methods for living off-grid.

We have visited the area of Tivissa over the past 6 years and love the location, the history, the warmth of both the people and the weather.

We are now about to purchase a property in the Tivissa mountains to renovate and to create an off-grid living experience, both for ourselves and for those seeking similar goals.

We will share the ups and downs of our experience as we go along and hope to inform you along the way of how to: renovate an old building, setup solar power, rainwater harvest, and grow the majority of our own food in a sustainable and Eco friendly way.
