At the closing of Ethiopia’s National Dialogue, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta delivered an important message that goes beyond politics—it speaks to the future of Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa.

Key messages:

🇪🇹 Dialogue is the path to peace.
Differences should not be settled through confrontation and violence, but through conversation, listening and peaceful engagement.

🤝 Inclusion matters.
A lasting national consensus cannot be built by leaving people behind. Every voice that contributes to Ethiopia’s future deserves to be heard.

🕊️ Peace requires courage and compromise.
National healing demands the willingness to listen to those with different views, understand one another and find common ground.

🇪🇹 Ethiopia is bigger than our differences.
Political, ethnic, religious and historical differences should not be allowed to destroy the shared future of the Ethiopian people.

የክረምት በጎ ፈቃድ ሥራችን በቤኒሻንጉል ጉሙዝ

በቤኒሻንጉል ጉሙዝ ክልል፣ በአሶሳ ከተማ እና በአሶሳ ዞን አብራሃሞ ወረዳ የጤና ሚኒስቴር ተጠሪ ተቋማት የክረምት በጎ ፈቃድ ሥራችንን በይፋ አስጀምረናል።

የበጎ ፈቃድ ሥራችን በዋናነት በትውልድ ግንባታ ላይ ያተኮረ ሲሆን፣ አንድ የቅድመ መደበኛ ትምህርት ቤት አዲስ ለመገንባት እና አንድ አንደኛ ደረጃ ትምህርት ቤት ከፍተኛ ጥገና ለማድረግ መሠረተ ድንጋይ አስቀምጠናል።

በተጨማሪም፦
🔹 ለ1,000 ተማሪዎች ሙሉ የትምህርት ቁሳቁስ ድጋፍ አድርገናል።
🔹 ባለፈው ዓመት የተገነቡ የድሃ ድሃ መኖሪያ ቤቶችን አስመርቀናል።
🔹 በጤና ሚኒስቴር በኩል የአሶሳ ጠቅላላ ሆስፒታል የእናቶች ክፍል ጥገና ይደረጋል።
🔹 የክልሉን የደም ባንክ እና የጤና መድን አገልግሎቶችንም ጎብኝተናል።

በዚህ የበጎ ፈቃድ ሥራ የተሳተፉት የጤና ሚኒስቴር ተጠሪ ተቋማት፦ የኢትዮጵያ ደምና ህብረህዋስ ባንክ አገልግሎት፣ አርማወር ሀንሰን ምርምር ኢንስቲትዩት፣ የኢትዮጵያ ጤና መድን አገልግሎት እና የቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል ናቸው።

❤️ ደም መለገስ ሕይወት ማዳን ነው!

በአሶሳ አካባቢ የደም ልገሳ ባህል ከሌሎች አካባቢዎች አንፃር አሁንም ማጠናከር እንደሚገባው ተገንዝበናል። ስለሆነም የአሶሳ እና አካባቢዋ ማህበረሰብ የደም ልገሳ ባህሉን በማሳደግ ለወገኖቻችን ሕይወት በማዳን የሚገባውን የበጎ አድራጎት ሚና እንዲወጣ በዚህ አጋጣሚ ጥሪዬን አቀርባለሁ።

ዛሬ የምንሰጠው ደም የነገ ሕይወት ነው!

በአንድ ወር ተኩል 95,000 ዩኒት ደም ተሰበሰበ!

የኢትዮጵያ ደምና ሕብረህዋስ ባንክ አገልግሎት ከሐምሌ 1 እስከ ነሐሴ 15 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. ባለው አጭር ጊዜ በአገር አቀፍ ደረጃ 95,000 ዩኒት ደም መሰብሰብ መቻሉን ያስታውቃል።

ይህ አፈጻጸም በተጠቀሰው ጊዜ ከተያዘው መደበኛ ዕቅድ በላይ ከ10,000 ዩኒት በላይ ብልጫ ያለው ሲሆን፣ የደም ልገሳ ባህልን በማጠናከር ረገድ የተገኘ አበረታች ውጤት ነው።

ይህ ውጤት ከሐምሌ 1 እስከ መስከረም 30 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. የሚቆየውን የብሔራዊ ክረምት የበጎ ፈቃደኝነት የደም ልገሳ መርሃ ግብር የ150,000 ዩኒት ግብ ለማሳካት ጥሩ መነሻ ሆኗል።

ነገር ግን ግቡ ገና አልተሳካም። 95,000 ዩኒት ደም ተሰብስቦ ቢሆንም፣ የ150,000 ዩኒት ግባችንን ለማሳካት ቀሪውን የደም ልገሳ ጥረት ማጠናከር ያስፈልጋል።

የሐምሌን ስኬት እናስቀጥል!

ይህን አበረታች አፈጻጸም ወደ ሙሉ የብሔራዊ ግብ ለመቀየር፣ እያንዳንዱ የደም ለጋሽ፣ በጎ ፈቃደኛ፣ የወጣት ደም ልገሳ ማኅበር፣ የመንግሥትና መንግሥታዊ ያልሆኑ ተቋማት እና አጋር ድርጅቶች በቀጣይም የበኩላችሁን እንድትወጡ ጥሪ እናቀርባለን።
95,000 ዩኒት ጥሩ መነሻ ነው፤ 150,000 ዩኒት ግን የጋራ ግባችን ነው።

ውድ የደም ለጋሾች፣ ለሰው ሕይወት ለመታደግ በፈቃደኝነት ለምትሰጡት የሕይወት ስጦታ ከልብ እናመሰግናለን።

ለመላ ቤተሰቡ፣ ወዳጆቹ እና ባልደረቦቹ መጽናናት ይሁን።

ፀግሽ ነፍስህ በሰላም ትረፍ።

የአቤት ሆስፒታል ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ ዶ/ር ፀጋዬ ገብረአናንያ በድንገት ከዚህ ዓለም መለየታቸውን ተከትሎ የተሰማኝን ልባዊ ሀዘን በራሴና በጤና ሚኒስቴር ስም እገልፃለሁ።

ዶ/ር ፀጋዬ በወጣትነታቸው ከፍተኛ ኃላፊነትን ተሸክመው፣ በትጋት፣ በቁርጠኝነትና ታታሪነት በተሞላ የአገልግሎት መንፈስ የጤናውን ዘርፍ ያገለገሉ ወጣት አመራር ነበሩ። በሕይወት ጊዜያቸዉ ያበረከቱት አስተዋጽኦና ለሕዝብ ያደረጉት አገልግሎት ሁሌም በክብር ይታወሳል።

ለመላ ቤተሰባቸው፣ ለወዳጆቻቸው፣ ለባልደረቦቻቸው እና ለመላው የጤና ማኅበረሰብ ልባዊ መጽናናትንና ብርታትን እመኛለሁ።

ነፍሳቸው በሰላም ትረፍ።

I was deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Dr. Tsegay Gebreanenia, Chief Executive Officer of AaBET Hospital. On behalf of the Ministry of Health and myself, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire health community.

Dr. Tsegay was a young leader who took on great responsibility at a young age and served with dedication, commitment, and a genuine spirit of service. Though his life was cut short, the work he did, the people he served, and the contribution he made to our health sector will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

His passing is a profound loss, particularly for his family, loved ones, and colleagues who knew and worked alongside him. At this difficult time, I hope they will find strength and comfort in the life he lived, the people he touched, and the service he gave to others.

My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire health community. May his soul rest in peace.

🇪🇹በሐምሌ ወር 61,133 ዩኒት ደም ተሰብስቧል!

የኢትዮጵያ ደምና ሕብረህዋስ ባንክ አገልግሎት በሐምሌ ወር ብቻ 61,133 ዩኒት ደም በአገር አቀፍ ደረጃ መሰብሰቡን በኩራት ያስታውቃል። ይህም ለወሩ የተያዘውን ዕቅድ ከ10,000 ዩኒት በላይ በማለፍ የተመዘገበ አስደናቂ ውጤት ነው።

ይህ ውጤት የብሔራዊ የክረምት የበጎ ፈቃደኝነት የደም ልገሳ መርሃ ግብር በሐምሌ፣ ነሐሴ እና መስከረም በተከታታይ ሦስት ወራት 150,000 ዩኒት ደም ለመሰብሰብ ያስቀመጠውን ብሔራዊ ግብ ለማሳካት ጠንካራ መነሻ ይሆናል።

The Ethiopian Blood and Tissue Bank Service (EBTBS) proudly announces that 61,133 units of blood were collected nationally during July, surpassing our monthly target by more than 10,000 units.
As part of the National Summer Volunteer Blood Donation Campaign, we set an ambitious goal of collecting 150,000 units over three consecutive months — July, August, and September. The remarkable achievement in July is a strong start toward reaching this national goal.

🙏 EBTBS sincerely acknowledges and honors all blood donors who generously gave the gift of life. We also extend our deepest appreciation to youth associations, volunteers, government and non-governmental organizations, institutions, and all partners who mobilized communities and supported blood donation campaigns.
Your altruistic contribution is helping save the lives of patients who depend on blood transfusion every day.

🩸 Let Us Keep July’s Momentum!
The first two weeks of August coincide with a fasting period for many Orthodox Christian believers. Nevertheless, we call upon all Ethiopians who are eligible and fit to donate blood to continue this lifesaving act whenever they are able to donate.

የጤና ሚኒስትር ክብርት ዶ/ር መቅደስ ዳባ በባህር ዳር ደም ባንክ የተገነባውን ዘመናዊ የደም ማከማቻ ቀዝቃዛ ክፍል (Cold Room) በይፋ መረቁ።

ይህ ወሳኝ ፕሮጀክት የደም ማከማቻ አቅምን በማሳደግ፣ የደም ደህንነትና ጥራትን በማጠናከር፣ ለታካሚዎች ወቅታዊና አስተማማኝ የደም አገልግሎት እንዲደርስ ከፍተኛ አስተዋጽኦ ያበረክታል።

የባህር ዳር የደም ባንክ እና የአማራ ክልል ጤና ቢሮ እንኳን ደስ አላችሁ እያልኩ በጋራ የኢትዮጵያን የደም ሥርዓት ይበልጥ ጠንካራ እያደረግን እንደምንቀጥል ያለኝን እምነት እገልፃለሁ!

This important project will significantly enhance blood storage capacity, strengthen the quality and safety of blood services, and improve the timely and reliable availability of blood for patients in need.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Bahir Dar Blood Bank and the Amhara Regional Health Bureau on this remarkable achievement. I am confident that, by working together, we will continue to build a stronger and more resilient blood system for Ethiopia.

ዛሬ ከቀድሞ ተከታታይ የአማራ ክልል ጤና ቢሮ ኃላፊዎች ከነበሩት አቶ አየልኝ፣ ዶ/ር አበባው እና ዶ/ር መልካሙ ጋር በመሆን የባህር ዳር የደም ባንክን ጎብኝተናል።

በጉብኝታችን ወቅት የተመለከትነው እድገት በእውነት የሚበረታታ ነው። ዘመናዊ የደም ምርመራ አውቶሜሽን ሥርዓት ሥራ ላይ መዋሉ፣ የደም ክምችት ማቀዝቀዣ (Cold Room) መጀመሩ እና የደም ስብስባ ከዓመት ወደ ዓመት በተከታታይ እያደገ መምጣቱ የተቋሙን አቅምና ቁርጠኝነት ያሳያል።

ንጹህ፣ የተደራጀና ምቹ የሥራ አካባቢውም ለሌሎች የክልል የደም ባንኮች ተምሳሌት የሚሆን ነው።
ለዚህ ውጤት ከፍተኛ አስተዋጽኦ ላበረከቱት የባህር ዳር የደም ባንክ ኃላፊ አቶ ምክሩ ሽፈራው እንዲሁም ለአማራ ክልል ጤና ቢሮ ላበረከተው ቀጣይነት ያለው ድጋፍ ከልብ አመሰግናለሁ። እንዲህ ዓይነቱ ቁርጠኝነት በሀገራችን የደም አገልግሎትን የበለጠ ለማጠናከርና ለህብረተሰቡ አስተማማኝ እና ጥራት ያለው አገልግሎት ለማድረስ ወሳኝ ነው።

Today, I had the pleasure of visiting the Bahir Dar Blood Bank together with three former consecutive Heads of the Amhara Regional Health Bureau—Mr. Ayelign, Dr. Abebaw, and Dr. Melkamu.

It was inspiring to witness the remarkable progress the blood bank has achieved over the years. The introduction of automated blood testing systems, the establishment of a modern cold room for safe blood storage, and the steady annual increase in blood collection demonstrate a strong commitment to improving blood service quality and accessibility.

The clean, well-organized working environment stands out as a model for other regional blood banks across Ethiopia.

My sincere appreciation goes to the Head of the Bahir Dar Blood Bank, Mr. Mikru Shiferaw, and to the Amhara Regional Health Bureau for their continued leadership and unwavering support. Their dedication is making a meaningful difference in strengthening our national blood system and ensuring safer, more reliable transfusion services.

ይህ ብሔራዊ መድረክ የጤና ዘርፉን ዓመታዊ አፈጻጸም ይገመግማል፣ የተገኙ ውጤቶችን ይመዝናል፣ ለ2019 ዓ.ም የትግበራ ዓመት ስትራቴጂካዊ አቅጣጫዎች ላይ የጋራ መግባባት ይደረስበታል።
በተጨማሪም የክረምት ችግኝ ተከላ እና የበጎ ፈቃደኝነት ስራዎችን ያካትታል፣ ይህም ለአካባቢ ጥበቃ፣ ለማህበረሰብ አገልግሎት እና ለዘላቂ ልማት ያለንን የጋራ ቁርጠኝነት ያጠናክራል።

Honored to participate in the Joint Steering Committee Meeting of the Ministry of Health and Regional Health Bureaus in the Lake Tana–blessed city of Bahir Dar.

This important national platform will review the annual performance of the health sector, evaluate achievements, and agree on strategic priorities for the 2019 E.C. implementation year. The program also includes the national Summer Plantation and Volunteer Initiative, reaffirming our shared commitment to environmental stewardship, community service, and sustainable development.

Another highlight of the program is the visit to the Bahir Dar Blood Bank and the inauguration of its new cold room—an important investment that will strengthen the safety, quality, and reliability of blood services in the region.

I am grateful to be part of this distinguished forum and remain committed to implementing the agreed directions to further strengthen Ethiopia's blood, tissue, and transplantation services. Working together, we can continue expanding access to these lifesaving services and improving health outcomes for all Ethiopians.
