Attar (Aramaic) or Athatar (south arabic) or Ahtar (Moab) or Astar (Axum) is the supreme deity of the Axum civilization. Astar is the god of thunder, rain and everything necessary for life. Astar is presented as a strong man with the head of Antelope, or just Antelope. Astar was most revered in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula of present-day Yemen and of course in the Kingdom of Axum.
